Title: New guy here, saying hi and need info
Post by: 94Hardbody4x4 on June 14, 2006, 02:31:35 PM
Yup, I'll be the new guy. My name is Austin and I live over here in Vero Beach(east coast for ya'll that don't know). At the moment I dont have an ATV. I'll be buying one though in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Mabey sooner. I'm buying one because I'm big into 4-wheeling(I have a Nissan 6" lift 32" BFG M/T's) and unfortunatley my truck is my ATV and daily driver. Those two things dont mix. I love riding trails and finding new ones. Nothing better than going out to 3-Lakes or River Ranch or Back Lakes and crising around for hours.

My buddy has a nieghbor that's selling a Yamaha Bruin 350 auto 4x4. It's all camo with bigger than stock mud tires. They're almost brand new. Unfortunatley there's no Hours meter. But I've never seen it leav the driveway so I doubt it's been used.  Not sur eon the year though, mabey a 200 or 2001 I'm guessing? Dunno. Runs good and has some balls for 350.

My question is are the Bruins reliable? I'm gunna offer $2,200 for it, they're asking $3,000 which if overkill. Do they use that belt transmission like Polaris or is it like the Hondamatic? Hopefully it aint the belt deal.

Welcome to the site. It is a good source of information. I'm into sport quads, so I can't answer any of your questions. I'm sure someone else will help you.

Welcome to the site.... as I do not have too much knowledge on the Bruin, I know for a fact that they're debuting year was 2004 so if they want $3000 that isn't a bad deal at all.... By the way I have owned 3 yamaha's and all were satisfactory and have performed above my expectations.......

Here is the KBB value for a 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4....... $3555     (heres the link)
http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/ke.kb.mr?kbb.FL;394855;FL011&33325;rc;r&&2004;Yamaha;Bruin%20350%204x4;41348;13390;;;;&&&&&

The value for a 2005 Bruin 4x4 is $3815
Find out the year
That is a good deal.... :ThumbsUp.gif

Welcome aboard, I think a 350 is ok but you might get bored with it pretty quick, a 500 or above would be a better choice like a  vinson, 650 prairie, recon etc.... would be something to consider

Well, I'd like to get a 500 but it's a money issue. $3000 is like my limit and I can't seem to find anything near Vero. I checked atvtrader.com but nothing good came up near me. I need something that's 4wd but has selectable 2wd. I hate full time stuff, can't crank donuts and it takes away alot of the fun.

I dont plan on lifting it or anything like that. Mabey a pipe and a homemade snorkel but power isn't too important. I just want it for cruising the trails. I have a lifted truck with mud tires if ever feel like hitting the mud.
