Title: Ocala Thunderbowl Quad Flattrack Sat June 24
Post by: HillKiller on June 11, 2006, 12:54:37 PM
6/24 earlier start time? Possibly 6pm. Keep checking this thread, I will post as soon as I know. Rumor is Tim Farr will be racing the Open class 6/24.
Last night obviously was a big turnout, 36 entries:
5 in the Minis
14 in the Beginner
10 in the Intermediate/Junior
7 in the Open/Pro
Alot of new faces, glad the RTR crew made it out.
There's a new flagman and some new rules. EXCEPT for the second heats which were extremly dry, the track seemed pretty good, I thought it was awesome in the Main. Post your comments. For those of you still on knobbies, nows the time. If you don't want to buy tires new, flattrack tires are on ebay often or www.ronniesmailorder.com

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Banshee-hoosier-flat-track-tires-drag-raptor-450_W0QQitemZ4647152916QQcategoryZ43983QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Knobbies will make you hate flattrack racing and you'll never get faster unless you run with faster guys...just my opinion.
Valdosta July 15: I talked to alot of you who said you'll be there. The track is 20 miles over the Ga/Fl line and 2 miles off 75. There is a campground and hotels 1 exit south of the track. The track is fast and smooth but remember no knobbies front or rear. Part of the reason the track goes away at Ocala is the knobbies cut all the goody off the top. The track owner said he would run all the quad classes first so if anyone is driving back home that night you'll have a good start. Spectators pay $7, racers $20. Depending on the turnout, the track may payout cash to the winners.
Here's a shot from Ocala 2nd heat Open class...

Other than some of the rough driving that was going on... I only have 2 complaints..

1, The track was way to dry!
2nd, TAKE A HOT LAP AFTER THE CHECKERD FLAG!! out of the whole intermediate class only myself and 1 other took the lap. I just about nailed a guy because  as i was turning left into turn one and he decided to cut right to get off the track..
It seems no one pays attention to the drivers meetings.

Also, Did I get first in the A main? someone told me because of the "bump and run" he was black flagged and thats why the flag main pointed the checkard flag at me after the race..

can someone find out?

my sister and jason were both in the mini runs. jason came in 2nd in all three heats and my sister came in 3rd in all three heats. its a shame that the trophies hadnt come in yet. they were looking forward to getting them. i really only have 1 complaint:
when we were registering, the lady said that the practice runs had been at 5 pm and that they werent doing them before the races (because they changed it or something).....but nobody from there told us that, so by the time we got there, they had already done the practices....the problem is that we had friends along that were racing and had never been on the track before, so it was harder for them.

I agree on the communication issues... alot of the time my brother gets a call from the track wanting to make some sort of a change...there is no way he can call the 30+ people and spread the news on RACE DAY. if they are going to make changes they need to post it on thier web site days in advance. For some reason it gets dropped on him..

You are definately right about the practices. I just happened to get there very early to hear of the earlier practice times so since you brought that up, all practice starts at 5 and I am told ends about 6:15 and then track prep and the drivers meeting and green flag at 7pm. We didn't get our trophies either, first time thats happened so my mini rider was disappointed. The minis put on a great show, I heard alot of crowd response. Hope you can bring them next time.

I brought my Son to the Race lastnight and he really enjoyed it!!  I got a chance to meet the folks from ECP great folks!  My Son also got to meet Justin who was racing an Eton 70 I think...  He really wants to try the Mini racing, does anyone know if a mini 90 4 stroke would be legal???  (I'm not much on 2 strokes...)

Oh and my 7 year old was officially thrown out of his first bar!!!!  (missunderstanding on everyones parts.)  :-)

the track was the same old ocala i know!! not that great!! dusty as hell.. now they are changing the starts and where we start. i dont like it. it was perfect the way it was!! dave pulled one off last night squeaking out tim. And remember he did it my style. went from last to first!! !! :o  thats how its done dave!!  ;)
the rtr crew didnt do as good as they expected!!  i think they got 5th and last. hey rtr you were right! your 450R is faster than your 400R!! :-\  i told you they were pretty damn fast. so next time you will have a little more respect for the racers! enough said......  you guys got a ways to go to catch the front runners....
congtats on the win dave! i told you man all it needed was a little tuning and tlc!
now to get to the 2 vs. 4 stroke battle!  THE 2-STROKES ARE BACK BABY!! !! !! ;D
SOON YOU WILL SEE 2-STROKES WINNING BOTH TOP CLASSES!!  we even got doug on a 2-stroke !!
doug man i am telling you if you can get that lt250 running good you will be way faster than you are on the 450R!! and you know this man!! !! !! ::)  once the 2-stroke guys get there bikes running good the 4 bangers are gonna be in BIG trouble!!  mark my words!! !! 8)

Scooter,

I hear what your saying but only 2 people from my "click" (which i thought you were a part of) said something. the other 10 people were from other groups and several of them i dont even know. It seems 90% of the spectators (not racers) thought it was wrong.

Bumping i can understand, but intentionally raming someone isnt racing thats poor sportsmanship. I can speak first hand for Steven if he got into you im sure it was an accident hes NOT a dirty racer, but from your own mouth your buddy is a dirty racer.
I know your coming to your friends defence but even last night you told me you thought it was a cheep shot.. I raced him clean the whole time, and i could have "moved" him but im a better racer than that.

Why do you think the flag man was looking for him after the race?
Like i told you at the track, im not that concered with it but i would like to know the outcome.  i wasnt making an issue out of it in my first post but the "If you wanna race and not get bumped Guess You need to Race Playstation!" comment was a little uncalled for.
your a better racer and a better person than that Scooter..

Yep! that was Justin, Tyler races and Eton 70 as well. Justin has his name on his bike...
Justin can make it to all the races but hes there for a few. Tyler is there for all and is always willing to race.

Doug was one of the ones that commented about the guy slamming into Chris and i agree. Its not a "CLICK" thing its about the safety of everyone on the track! Lets see i recall GASGAS had a crash out on the track by himself, umm Gary had a spil by himself at Sandmountain. They were both bad recks now lets take 2 bike going 55-65 mph crash umm i dont believe that would be good someone is bound to get hurt or even killed. This isnt some motocross track you ride in 2nd or 3rd gear bubba this is a flat track going 55-65 wide open where guys only let out in the corners and some stay wide open the whole time. I can see if you bump into someone yes that happens but dont ram into someone on the track on purpose it just uncalled for and its DIRTY racing. So cut the "click" crap and think about safety we all have to go to work on Monday morning and there is no reason for anyone to race that way. just my opinion think what you want but Chris I got your side on this one. Dont come disrespecting me for something i have no control over,Next time instead of running that Rattle Trap how about comming to the person that You have the problem with instead of sittin around talk sh!t behind their Back

Chris,
Let me get this cleared up right away.

The rider your referring to is one of my riders, David Bohnstadt. I can assure you or anyone else that the accident you are speaking of was just that, an accident. ATP does not employ dirty riders to represent our company and the last person on the planet that would ride that way is David. As the old saying goes, rubbing is racing, and that will happen from time to time.

This was the first time we have been up to the track, and we had a great time. We plan on being back some time in the future. Maybe we will get a bike actually set up to run the pro class instead of the worn out mx practice bike, lol, that was some great racing.

Hope this will clear things up,
Mike

Scooter all Doug asked you was if that was one of your buddies.

Derek & Scott- hey guys good to see yall. Doug has the bike all the torn down to the frame getting it ready to send off to powdercoating. We will see hopefully he can get everything for it and have it ready for the july race.

Mike,

No offence. but YOU are the ONLY one who sees it that way.
The tower, flag man, other racers and the spectators saw it different...
Maybe you guys just dont know Flat Track etiquette its not like MX by any means.
I "heard" he was talked to about "rubbing" in the open class as well. I dunno, wasnt there just what i heard.

and I will say again, I wasnt making an issue out of this i just wanted to know if I got 1st or 2nd. You guys are making more of an issue out of it than me.. Yall are going ape sh1T over it...Its Ok im not upset by any means. I will say this, David might not want to make his style of racing a habit. From what the flager said, he will be told not to come back if he does something like that again...
I dont think ATP would want that either...

Also, if it was truly an "accident" he should have come up to me after the race, I know i would have...character says alot...

Does something like what?  all I saw was a great race, with 2 really good riders fighting for a position.  I think the problem lies in the fact that all the guys who do this every weekend just can't stand the fact that a motocrosser came in and handed you your butts on knobbies.   How cool was that.

To change the subject, We had an awsome time with the minis racing. We met some great new faces allong with the great ATV FLA. crew. Everyone shown great sportsmanship (I thought?) we had two new friends race in the beginers class that are now hooked on flat track racing even though one of them took a bad spill in turn 2.They commented on how great all the people were at this event. Which means alot to me because I tell them how awsome the people are on this site. Lets keep the sportsmanship that way and have fun, safe racing.

Nightbreed, RTR380, and all the ATP gang,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you. I hope you guys will come down again when I have my 250R back together. I would have liked to raced RTR380 and the other guys on your team in the Open Pro class. Sorry that Chris and your rider tangled in Intermediate class, but everything turned out O.K. and I hope everyone can remember that there aren't that many of us ATV lovers out there and let things go. Sometimes things happen when you are riding as hard as you can on a dry, slick track.

Chris I see your point, and it did look intentional from my perspective, but let it go man, it could have been much worse. I hope there is no bad blood with your group and ours ( I say that and Derek and I have only just met everyone 3 months ago). I hope you guys keep coming to race. I want to race with a good turnout. I remember the days of MX in the early 90's when there would only be 5 or 6 quads show up at Reddick. It sucked.

I guess all I am trying to say is I hope this can be over and I hope this isn't the last time your guys will come to thunderbowl especially since Derek and I haven't gotten the chance to race any of you yet.  I want to race that 400 Polanda and your baddest 450R with my 330R and see how it turns out. I'm sure it will be a blast.

I'm with all of you who want to move on and just race. As far as the "click" comments...huh???? I spend alot of my night at the track just walking around talking to riders I have never met. There wouldn't be "clicks" if everybody broke away from the huddle they stay in and walked around. I met someone in the RTR camp (black 250R) who was nice as hell and if everyone mixes it up this little flattrack deal will stay cool and not so cut throat like most other racing...it may sound corny but so what.

Derek and Scott: Thanks for getting me out of the fuel issue with your "ghettofix" and everything else. It's been 3 or 4 months since I've seen a checkered. Feels good for a change!

As you and everybody else saw i took a couple spills myself. He slid around just as i was roundin the turn, just on his outside. I didnt realize he went over until i got about half way down the back stretch, and looked back. Somebody said he got hit after he rolled.

Blind,
first off, i dont race every weekend maybe once a month IF that. Second, we dont care who comes out as long as they come.  Third, no one handed anything to anyone...last that was the first time my bike has been on a track anytime, anywhere...   your post is nothing more than trying to start trouble between the groups... thats not cool... everyone has been friends with everyone and it need to stay that way! as a matter of fact if he would have taken his hot lap like he should have I was going to stop on the back strech and shake his hand. Thats what we do. Thats how we are...

Now,  Mike Walker knows Im his friend, i dont think he doubts that. as a matter of fact Mikes son played in the motor home with my son and my brothers boy. So there is no MX/Flat Track rivals here.
after my spill at Sand Mountain, he gained HUGE respect from me because he was the first one there as i "woke up" making sure i wasnt dead...  :Dead.gif

Scott and everyone,

As i have said over and over and over... I dont have a problem i just wanted to know the outcome. I even told Scooter, Doug, my Dad, and Dave and all the others who came up to me at the track I wasnt worred about it.

Im NOT i repeat NOT making an issue out of anything. i wanted to know the OUTCOME. Everyone else is heating this up NOT ME! Can i make this any clearer to anyone? Everyone please read ALL the post before you post...  everyone else keeps fanning the flames and I get the finger pointed at me? Im not tring to be an Azz here, i just feel like i have repeated myself enough times..

Justin doesnt get to ride that much so im a little worred when hes out there. Everyone gave him room and was appreciated.
Last saturday was the fastest he has ever riden out there... hes getting better though.

Nope its a LT80 bored once over but other than that its a stock eng. with the proper tuneing not bad for second time on the track. My daughter was on the red xtreme  w/flames on the fenders that is a 90cc stock eng. also. both of them just turned 7. I personaly thought all the kids did awsome win, lose or draw aslong as they are having fun thats all that matters.

Yeah never mind the guy who builds your motors.... :Yo

Its amazing how a little poke can get everybody so wound up, especially from people didn't even race the race in question.  WHATEVER!!! ::)  If you can't stand some s!#t talking you are in the wrong sport.

Oh and by the way Chris I was the one, along with Mike, who help you gather your senses at sand mountain when your spindle sent you airborn.

Hey worm,  was good to meet you guys. The minis were alot of fun. Yall brought out some quik lil machines. Tell your buddy not to feel bad about the spill. As you and everybody else saw i took a couple spills myself. He slid around just as i was roundin the turn, just on his outside. I didnt realize he went over until i got about half way down the back stretch, and looked back. Somebody said he got hit after he rolled.

Hey hillbrass,

I think that was your kids giving my boy a little extra room.
Let them know i said "thank you"
Justin doesnt get to ride that much so im a little worred when hes out there. Everyone gave him room and was appreciated.
Last saturday was the fastest he has ever riden out there... hes getting better though.

Wareracing07,

My boy was just watching...  :-)  He spoke to yours prior to the first heat.  He really wants to try it himself so it looks like Dad will be changing out his Z50 for an Eton.  I was going to talk to you about your experiance with the Etons but you were pretty busy getting everyone ready so I decided to spare you the newbie questions...  LOL

the track was the same old ocala i know!! not that great!! dusty as hell.. now they are changing the starts and where we start. i dont like it. it was perfect the way it was!! dave pulled one off last night squeaking out tim.

and yes dave you were haul'in when you passed that 4-poke!!  :o

First of all, let me say that I never expected to do really well!!  You need to go back and check my posts.  Once again, I was trying to be very humble.  The 400 had clutch issues!  And as far as respect for other racers and their abilities, you need to go back and check the posts i made!  I gave praise to Tim and others all night!  But, before you go and make me look like a chump and say I have a ways to go to catch the front runners, I thought I did fairly well on my first time there!  What else do I have to say to try to come off humble!  I knew I wasnt going to go blow anyone away.  Long travel suspension, not geared properly, never rode the track, etc;
Give me a couple more races, and dont chump me like I deserve it, cause I dont!  Come run with us on the tracks we usually ride and I can promise you that you yourself would not fair near as well as I did my first time at your track!!!

Now, as far as next time!  I need some of those front tires that you guys were running!  My front tires kept pushing me out of the bottom groove that I was trying to hold! :'(  By the time I would get straight, people were making time on me on the bottom while I was pushing towards the wall coming out of the corners!  Any suggestions on what size and brand would be helpful!!  Being that we NEVER RACE FLATTRACK, I could use some help! :-\

Chris- You rode your tail off coming from the rear to get up front!  Good job brother! ;)

"David might not want to make his style of racing a habit. From what the flager said, he will be told not to come back if he does something like that again...
I dont think ATP would want that either... "

Does something like what?  all I saw was a great race, with 2 really good riders fighting for a position.  I think the problem lies in the fact that all the guys who do this every weekend just can't stand the fact that a motocrosser came in and handed you your butts on knobbies.   How cool was that.

Hopefully Im not stepping on toes!  But, this was Davids first flattrack race ever I believe!  I know where he is coming from in his style of racing!  I never run flattrack as well so I can understand that it was a huge adjustment!  He would come in extremly hot into the corner and sometimes get a little crazy going through it!  But that is just the learning curve that he had!  When I missed a gear on the back stretch and he passed me, I came into him pretty hard as well!  He was just being aggressive and was trying hard to win but not hurt anybody!  He said several times before the race that if he couldnt compete with you guys that he would love to follow you guys around and learn.  It just so happens that the guy is a bad azz rider!  I think that he and I both learned alot that race! ???  He is a stand up guy and very humble rider!  for what its worth!

Thank you very much! No, I was not intentionally blocking, just racing! I didnt see anyone there until he got beside me!  Then it was too late, he passed me like a bag of hammers!

Derek,  I dont know your problem with me but you dont know me!  I am not a FOOL by any stretch of the imagination! I dont ride over my head! And I dont remember mixing it up with anyone where I would need to apologize!!! Not trying to take anything away from the track or the riders that go there, but, I tried hard to compete and do it ethically!  Dont question my integrity or intentions!  Im friends with ALOT  of people in here and am trying to keep it that way!  Those that know me, know that I will and do whatever it takes to help others and have a good time!  Tim Sisson was helping me out with several pointers and advice all night.  I was doing my best!  I will get better!  Sorry it wasnt good enough for you! >:D

went from last to first but i will say you gave him the most trouble!!  it looked like ya'll were riding twice as hard as anyone else and you didnt look like you had full control! how could you when you just pitch it sideays and slide through the corner!! ??  when you do that you slide to the top coming out!!

Not once did I say that "Ill be faster than those guys"  Go back read all the posts!  They were as light humored, mildly trash talked, and as humble as could be!  Sorry that not everyone can ride as well as you obviously can.  Not being 2 faced or playing both sides of the fence.  All this attack coming from someone who made no attempt to even come talk to us or get to know us at all!  But do me a favor, next time we are out there- Dont!  Have no need for it or desire to! Get whatever video you want,  all you will see is a rider that raced there for the first time trying to race his best race and learning his way around the track, while getting beat by better riders who made it a point to come talk to us and thank us for coming!  Dont need your pointers or care to hear them!

As for the rest of you guys! thanx for showing me the way around the track!
Hillkiller- Awesome, awesome race brother!  Sorry if I was blocking you, but I was trying to find my line and didnt know you were there until you pulled by me.
Probably wont show up again if I need to deal with this much grief just to race!  Not fun when your being hammered by strangers! :(

Just trying something different!  And besides, the 4 stroke is better for TT racing and MX anyway!  Need to build me one of our banshees for flattracking!  If we do it anymore, that is! :-\

Hey man, I see that the kidding has hit some nerves. I am sorry that we were tied up helping our friends with some problems with their bikes. I really wanted to come and say what's up and next time I will definetely do so. Scooter and I had some good conversations and he'll tell you we are nice people too. I hope that you will keep coming, heck I haven't gotten to race you yet.

RTR380,

ok, ok, enough all ready,   racin is racin,  i'll trade a little bump and grind for the brand new 250r motor that siezed up sat night because the air filter came off.  (thanks Doug  ;)

Thats never hapened to a 250r before... :-X   Do you have the support rings in the airbox? If not get them . They are well worth it..

Just think maybe we can get enought 250r's out their one day to out number the 4 strokes. ;D

no air box, filter mounts to the carb via a rubber boot, seems the filter pulled of the boot some..

  SuperStar,
You must have nine lives out there!! :)
[/quote] I guess so. I let my determination get the best of me. Was way too aggressive there at the end. For the most part after my first spill it seemed i was constantly tryin to get around somebody with stok tires. Man that makes me super nervous in the corners. Several times all i could do was watch the azz end of a couple of em just jump all over the place in turn 4. I would have a good run into the turn and stik it out there, only to have to lay back. I just knew when that rear left tire came off the track on a couple bikes in front of me it was just a matter of time before that machine caught traction and would go over. Its one thing to take myself out but to get tangled up in somebody elses mess, just aint worth it. Right aftre the first heat, i guess somebody complained and said (get this) i was "intentionally throwin dirt into the crowd along the front stretch". I think it may have been right after lappin those two bikes comin out of 4. I was hammerin on it full bore, when i came out i got a lil squirrely and fish tailed it pretty good. I think my representative spoke well enough for me when she was approached,so i figured if i didnt hear anything straight from the horses mouth than it was a dead issue and it would probably be best to just " let it ride". I dont understand not bein able to run your headlights, whats that all about. For those who know a lil sumpin sumpin about the yfz, that henders the performance of that bike. Oh well ill just rig it next time. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed everyone.

Oh yeah, can we not ditch those cones, or atleast move em over to the berm. I hit the big one in 4 and it got me loose enough to ultimately end up on my back the first time. I realize it sounds like an excuse, but why put em on the track itself. The whole idea of the cone is to let us know where we shouldnt be. There were several times those 2 or 3 feet would have come in REAL handy. Another thing too i forgot to mention, that will be brought up next drivers meeting. If i am wrong please correct me. When your runnin a class (beginners especially) with lets just use oh say.......14 bikes or so. The heats should be used as qualifying rounds, should they not. Heat 1,2 and 3, 5 laps, 5 bikes, top 3 advance. Now youve narroweed your field down, also you just ran 15 laps in 3 heats instead of 16 in 2. You can run the main w/ 9 bikes, 12 laps. This is just an example based on the turn out we had this time. Not only is it safer , it also allows the riders to stay a lil more crisp come time for the main, which in itself is safer also. The smaller fields i guess can run just like they are, but when youve got that many riders, looks like to me itd be best to atleast split em up. If time is a factor then run fewer heat laps OR water the track during intermission with the truck and not a garden hose. LOL. Just my .2 cents

Left rear tire off the ground??? Can you say "swaybar"?? Superstar, you might be safer running the intermediate class since they at least have tires like you and there isn't as many as in the beginner class. sooner or later knobbies will make for good video!
I heard about the dirt into the crowd thing but I think that was as much the tracks fault for letting the surface get so dry.

I didn't see how you ended up getting upsidedown but that is exactly what happened to me a few months back...clipped the cone, spun to the left, hit the berm, flipped over.
You other point is well taken and it has been discussed repeatedly. The beginner class is too big to be safe. Here is the most popular fix. In order to keep the racing safe and fair if more than 10 are entered (two rows of five) then the class will be split. For example, if there are 14 again like last race then the beginners will have a 1st and 2nd round heat with 7 each. The average of your finish from the heats will qualify you for either the beginner A Main or B Main. The only negative is if you are big on getting a trophy, the track says there must be 9 entered for 1st thru 3rd to get a trophy otherwise only 1st and 2nd will get one. The positive is when compared to SandMountain you get to race more. This is meant to work out so the faster beginner riders race together in their own Main and the slower in theirs. I think I may have just said the same thing you did! :)

Whats up everyone, i would like to come out for the quad races, where do you guys meet up and when? Ive got a banshee  and id like to try it out, are there certain requirements for racing? Lemme know - im down -
Next race is 6/24, practice at 5pm, racing at 7pm, drivers meeting just before 7. There are 3 classes to choose from: Beginner, Intermediate, Open/Pro. If you have never raced flattrack before or if you don't have a setup then Beginner or Intermediate would be best. The first step is rear tires, Hoosiers, American Racers, etc. Cya then!

I know theyre preachin sliks for "everybody on everything". But what about mini fronts. Ive been lookin around, and theyre just isnt anything out there that ive been able to find as far as minis go. I am in the process of switchin out the turf tamers i just bought. Ive been able to find several places that deal a golf cart tire that looks excellent, but no fronts. If the man says everybody needs em, then thems the rules, but they must understand the availability issue. Also if anybody knows where to find a set that dont weigh 12 lbs and arent 23 inches tall, please let me know. Thanks  John

  Hey John,
I spoke with Ray (flagman) yesterday for a few minutes. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say you should be ok without slicks on the fronts with the Minis, we all know they don't ruin the track and you are right, the fronts are hard to find. I just ordered a set for my Mini for the rear and they set me back $300 so I hope the rest of the Minis don't bail just because of a tire rule.... :(

Try tractor supply for the fronts!  Lawn mower tires work great on minis!

ECP is the bomb! Keep bringing em even if its only once a month. I was in the infield for the Minis and I think they put on the best show and are the cleanest racers even though they make me nervous watching! RTR, thanks for the tip on Tractor Supply, will have to check that out.

We went to test n' tune at Thunderbowl last night. The track was in POOR shape, due to all the rain we've had here the past few days. The flagman, Ray, drug it a little bit so that we could at least practice. He did tell us that for sure, without a doubt, Tim Farr would be here on the 24th. We told him that we had heard all sorts of things to that effect, and he again INSISTED that he was coming.
Just thought ya'll might like to know that.

I just got off the phone with Gary... If Farr is there I have to run the Open class.  ;)
If not, I guess I can beat gary again for the 100th time!

As far as the Minis go, I WONT be buying tires.. Justin dont race there enough for it to be cost effective. if need be Ill pull my rears off and put them on his. But the fronts are going to have to be nobbies..  Dave, Why didnt you talk to Tim about this?
Is the flag man the head man now?

Title: Re: Ocala Thunderbowl Quad Flattrack Sat June 24
Post by: HillKiller on June 15, 2006, 06:40:50 PM
Yes the flagman Ray is calling the shots, Tim has moved into a track manager role and less of a track worker role. When I called yesterday to talk with Tim he put Ray on the phone.I have been planning on getting Tyler rear tires anyway because he is squirly in the corners with his knobbies but I don't see the point of getting front slicks.
Someone start a poll on here about whether we should start by a green light or flag in hand. Several people have pm'd me about this. Comments???

If we started with a green light would we be doing it from a dead start or rolling start!?

We would start as we did the other night but instead of the flagger on the ground starting the race, he gets a nod from the riders then sends it up to the tower to flip the green light, then were off!

No,no, dont get me wrong. Were not bailin. Like i said if thems the rules then thems the rules. Im just sayin that if when we show up next week and for some reason we dont have sliks on the front of the mini, its not because were just blowin em off, theyre just hard to come by.

I agree with ya 100%. Starts from the half way point suck. Im just gettin hookd up by the time i have to let off for the corner, and you cant lower airpressure just to try and get the whole shot. As far as the light, i can go either way. I like the flagger more i think. I know last week during a beginner run, we ran the whole race on yelow, lol. So personally when i comaslidin round 4 im lookin at the man with the flag.

Lets see, Doug got kicked out, Colin likes to call me a fat pig hiding behind a screen name for a week.
I doubt Dave would go because of the whole Colin screaming "I F'in hate you guys!" to me and when I asked him what he was talking about he said he hates quads... then he walks over and tells my wife, then he tells Megan, Dougs wife the same thing... and everyone else live to far from the track to go and practice...But if you want to go.... knock yourself out!  ;)   trust me hes taking care of the track for the two wheelers not for the quads...
Ask him, he will tell you as well.

No offense taken, he definately seems a bit sour, and im sure his intentions lean towards the 2 wheelers. Its closer for me, and my thursdays off fall in between race weeks so i can get in a lil seat time. I do like the way he works the track, and im sure its only a matter of time before the wrong words are spoken, but until then ill run er as long as everybody gets along, or can bare it. I dont blame ya one bit for not going, i wouldnt either.

I think after Chris disposes of the thumpers in the "Junior" class he's gonna leave yall behind and run with us in the Open class to make it a 1-2 two stroke team Ware finish :Fp :Sp   :)   As Scott puts it so well, you dont really know what "Humble Pie" tastes like (and I have tasted plenty) until you run the Open class :S

Gary,

Are you racing in the open class Saturday? Or is Dave dropping to the intermediate class? Dave's clutch was slipping and it isn't anymore so you guys should see the power that he has now. Banshee's are no slouches and I think after Saturday no one will doubt that anymore. Dave was running very well last time we were there and I think he will do the same if he can solve the jetting issues. Either way good luck to everybody as I don't think Derek and I will make it down on Saturday.

P.S. What's up Doug how is that quadracer coming?

The Tim Farr rumor may be just that...a rumor, but we will all know Saturday.   Don't know if the RTR crew is coming, anyone know for sure? How bout it JT?
