Title: Alleged Gator Attack of 28 y.o Jogger in Sunrise
Post by: AintSkeered on May 10, 2006, 11:23:02 PM
Local news is reporting that they found a 28 y.o. woman's body floating in the canal running east/west alongside Markham Park. They base their opinion on the injuries(no autopsy yet). But, that bike route running along that canal is sharply elevated 10 ft above the canal and runs alongside a 55mph speed limit road. Any/all shrubbery, grass, weeds or other vegetation is mowed to the ground. So, there's no place for the gator to hide and wait. If the gator had climbed up that embankment and was waiting for her to jog by or stop to rest or tie her shoe, she couldn't have been too observant(ipod?). You'd have to see the area to understand why I'm skeptical, even though it's possible. Been down that path hundreds of times on road and mountain bikes. This sucks for that family!
