Title: Sand Mountain Post by: greenmachine on April 24, 2006, 10:16:47 AM Had another great time riding there on Sunday. Was surprised at the gate when we were told all the trails & behind the big hill were off limits due to the brush fire they had out there as per the fire marshall. Kind of sucked to drive over an hour to get there just to ride the trails & hillclimbs because none of us race, but the owner & the nice lady at the front trailer let us in with a really nice discount, 2 thumbs up to the staff of Sand Mountain for taking care of customers. I cant wait until it rains, all the tall grass is now burned off the hills in the back so we will really be able to make some nice climbs when we are able to get back out there. If SandMountain reads this, please inform us when the hills & trails will be open as soon as you know. Oh yeah, can you "walk on" to a flat track race for the mini quads or do you have to race the season.

Title: Re: Sand Mountain Post by: greenmachine on April 26, 2006, 02:21:19 PM You can go to there website, but I say Sand Mountain is one of the best places I have EVER ridden & the people are outstanding. I tell everyone I know about it & show the pics & watch their jaws drop when they see some guys going up the big sand hill & hitting 6-10 ft verticals & clearing it over the top.

Title: Re: Sand Mountain Post by: BCConviber on April 26, 2006, 03:03:02 PM No... It's a great place because they are a race track for sport quads, and don't allow a bunch of drunken wild a$$ rednecks to have their fun on utility quads! Get it right Joe! ::)
Title: Re: Sand Mountain Post by: Alba450 on April 26, 2006, 03:06:26 PM SM is really good!! But I miss the trails :-\
Title: Re: Sand Mountain Post by: 53yfz450 on April 26, 2006, 03:08:19 PM Sand MOuntain has always been about the customers and they should be applauded for putting up with all of the insults they have gotten on this site and all that they do for the atv's and such. The owners are great and have always done everything they could to take care of the people who ride at their facilities. We have never had a bad time at Sand Mountain and cannot wait to get back there!!!
Sand Mountain is probally the best place to spend your money-at least at Sand Mountain when you pay your money it is as valued as anyone on a dirtbike unlike other tracks like(Lakeland)!!! Its a blast watching all of you. LOL
Title: Re: Sand Mountain Post by: greenmachine on April 27, 2006, 10:23:14 AM ::)Sorry the discount had nothing to do with it, it is the best place to ride in this area period. The discount was nice of them because we didnt drive an hour to race but to ride the trails & hills. The fire marshall shut down the trails because of a brushfire that burned in the area caused by a parked/running phosphate train that rides the tracks on the north border. I guess you guys arent happy unless you are starting some sort of drama with some one, how about we start a thread utes -vs- sports quads or Ford-v-Chevy or Christians-v-Atheists ???. Maybe we could all beat those to death for a few days. ::) Bring your ute out & lets see it go up a hill, maybe all that mud is getting to you guys. Anybody can drive thru a mudhole, if you get stuck, buy some different tires, dont take ballz to do it, lets see you guys go vertical or clear a double. BTW, I dont know anyone at SandMountain, just giving props to some good cust relations, also only been there 2 times & stayed all day both times & everyone had a blast.

You say anybody can drive through a mudhole. Bring that sport quad on out to L-Cross then. You say it does not take balls to ride a ute. Follow 05GreenGrizz on his Rhino. I think he would follow you on those hills but you would never do what he does on that Rhino. I seen him dive it off in the mud about 5 feet deep from dry land. I told him that I would do a lot with my quad except that. Title: Re: Sand Mountain Post by: greenmachine on April 27, 2006, 12:01:02 PM Hey I am not bashing utes, just pointing out that you guys wont stop until we get a ute-v-sport bashfest going. I was on the golf cart thread so you guys came over with the hijack & here we are. I will avoid mud like the plague, I like riding my quad, not repairing it. How exactly does it take ballz to drive anything into a hole full of mud/water? How does it take ballz to punch the throttle to make it thru the mud or get stuck? Please clarify this. I know it takes more balls than I have to hit some of those 8-10' vertical hillclimbs. When I was a kid, I spent every weekend in the mud at Holiday Park or Pembroke Pines Blvd. My ATC was always breaking something, now I pay for repairs so I CHOOSE not to go mudding. I can appreciate your style of fun & see the fun in it, but it is not for me. You guys invited me to come out to L-Cross, if I lived in Ft Lauderdale still I would, but I dont want to drive that far. So I invited you guys to SM. Good day gentleman
