lol lol I thought the same thing when I first saw it. Need anyone and everyones opinion, Should I have the plate removed or not? The doc seems to be leaning towards it but I am unsure what to do. Any input would greatly be appreciated. No comment is too dumb. Title: Re: Scars of Quads Only Post by: Joedirt on April 21, 2006, 01:04:28 PM Looks like Doc left his Hair comb in there.....LOL...

Title: Re: Scars of Quads Only Post by: bigscrub79 on April 24, 2006, 02:08:14 PM i think one of the screws are cross-threaded. you may want to retap it. I had a plate in my leg. I left it in there for 4 years then it got to painful. Everytime i would try to walk any long distance or run my leg would swell up. Anytime it rained or the weather changed drastically it would hurt. I had him take it out and it has been better since then. I would say get it taken out as soon as possible.lol lol I thought the same thing when I first saw it. Need anyone and everyones opinion, Should I have the plate removed or not? Title: Re: Scars of Quads Only Post by: renmus on April 24, 2006, 08:34:50 PM Did a little checking: Removing the metal plate as soon as possible is especially important in children because their bones are still growing. Bones receive nourishment through their surfaces, and bone under a metal plate can die if the plate is left on too long. Current methods of determining when the bone is healed depend on a “calcium signature,” which doesn’t show up until well past the time the bone is healed.
Yep, I would have the plate removed. Title: Re: Scars of Quads Only Post by: russrides on April 25, 2006, 07:15:02 PM sweet pics I'll have to scan mine!!
Maybe you'll be riding by the time I can make up my mind what to do about my Quad! |
