Title: WHERE THE Atv THIEVES ARE
Post by: stump66 on January 30, 2005, 06:14:08 AM
Its hard to comprehend that as tight knit as our community is, (and I mean the atv community and the ATV.florida comminuty) that these scum bags are still able to get away with lifting these bikes in such quanities and frequencies. These bikes must either be leaving the state to be chopped elseware or someone within our community knows more then we think. I AM NOT trying to start a debate on this. I am just stating an opinion. SOMEBODY has to know SOMETHING.
WE!!! ride at aALL the known local and public riding areas. With no exception. If these bikes are staying here then the thieves are either within OUR own community or REALLY close and watching.  ???  NO authorities are doing a very good job of helping us stop the actions of these SCUM.
WE NEED TO POLICE OURSELVES!!
When you want something done right do it yourself!!
Question people you don't know.
Strike up a conversation.
Look for vin numbers.
POST ANYTHING YOU SEE HERE FOR THE REST OF US!!
If WE as a whole get a knowledge of who, what ,when where
we may be able to deter or stop some of this.

I do feel for the ppl that get quads stolen.
But if you cant afford good security or insurance why do you have a quad?
I hear all the time oh it was stolen out of my backyard.
Well why is not in the garage? or dont have a garage. Then rent a storage facility with security.

Hear is what I have. 3 quads in the garage. Home security. The garage door stays down, with my car and my wifes car in front of the garage door.
When we leave I double lock with one cable lock and one chain, the thickest one I could find..

When we go places we take the big chain and several locks and put tarps over all the quads or best yet keep them in the enclosed trailer.

Don't know about THE BEST or pricing but this was a quick google.
http://motorcycle.progressive.com/

http://www.eqgroup.com/motorcycle.htm

I agree about getting insurance on the quads but that still does not stop or even address the issue of jerkoffs taking our
s#!T. Insurance will cure the economic aftermath of the theft but will DO NOTHING!!! to stop it.

I personally can't stand progressive, but if they have good rates on quad insurance, I may check them out again.

They stole it all!

On the trailer was:
2005 red Honda 450r bent grab bar removed tail light stock
2004 red Honda trx 90 stock ridden a good bit but no broken plastics
1987 quad sport 230 beat up a bit with a new croom sticker
2005 blue Yamaha pw80 stock
2001 raptor 660r raptor +8 swing arm with scat track haulers and a full pro circuit exhaust renthal bars and aftermarket levers and grab bar
2000 Honda cr250r red and white

all stolen on a home built trailer, Saab wheels  with extensions on the rear of the trailer to fit the raptor and a wood box up front

If you have any info please either call the police or let me know.

A better description of the trailer, the frame is 1X3 channel iron. The deck is extended metal. The trail itself is 21 feet long by 5' 6" in the back. There is a wooden tool box painted gray on the front. The right tail light is very hard to see because of the 6" extension for the raptor on it. It also has SAAB wheels, a 4" pipe along the back where the tail lights are. The tag number is out of Pinellas County 193eh, located on the left hand side of the trailer. If anyone sees or knows anything please help us by calling the Marion county police department.

Here is some information that might help. I have all the Vin Numbers for all the bikes

2005 Yamaha PW80-JYA3RV0355A048410
1986 Suzuki Quad Sport 230- JSAAJ43A8FZ113800
2001 Yamaha Raptor 660R 4-wheeler - JY4AM01381C024465
2004 Honda Sport Trac 90 - JH3TE18024K904163
2005 Honda TXR 450 R - 1HFTE300X5A105751
2000 CR 250 We do not have a vin as of yet.

SOMEONE CAME INTO THE CAMPGROUND AT 3 AM--SAW A GUY BY THE TRAILER AND BIKES--AT 3:20 SOMEONE GOT UP AND FOUND THE TRAILER AND BIKES GONE!  SOMEONE WAS IN A CANVAS CAMPER RIGHT BY THE TRAILER AND DIDN'T HEAR A THING.  BY THE WAY- THE TRUCK THAT WAS STOPPED WAS PROBABLY THE GUILTY PARTY.  TIRE TRACK MARKS MATCH THE TRACKS NEXT TO THE TRUCK.  THERE HAD TO BE AT LEAST 2 OR 3 GUYS. THAT WAS HEAVY WITH ALL BIKES.  THE TRUCK THAT WAS STOPPED WAS A LOCAL.

It was mid 80 square body FORD F-150 white with a primer bed.

I am posting this to all the forums I can so all can see this!

Man , I feel for you ... Hope you find the B!stards and get your stuff back ..  I feel for anyone who has had a quad stolen from them ... We have been going out to Ocala about every other weekend so I will keep my eye out ..

A few nights ago someone was snooping around where I keep my bike , I park the shee on my back porch and my room is right next to it , and I park my truck right in front of the door .. so that way they will have to atleast push my truck out of the way first ... Well a couple nights ago  it was about 1:30am  I hear a thump noise the obvious noise of someone hitting the bed of a truck .. I jump out of bed flip the bed room light on in the process , goto the living room and let the dog( pit bull) out of the kennel ...  open the door went out to inspect the dog ran around a few minutes barking a few times which is nothing un-common ........ My guess is it was a  person trying to pop my back window open or a stray cat or something hitting the bed of the truck while jumping up into it ..  I thought for sure someone was about to meet my dog and a boat oar with some nails driven through the end ..  putting a motion light up tonight !

If you ever hear anything, try not to turn on a light inside the house. If there is someone out there. They can see you but you cannot see them.

The only light they will see is the laser sight gleaming in their eye, BANG!!
