Hey IXI, I've got a question for ya..

What size tires are you running and where did you get the wheels / tires? I'm doing some research before I start building mine.

Thanks!

Try St Lucie Battery and tire I've bought  tractor tires from them .
Also Palm Beach battery and tires sells and mounts large tractor tires on site. They have plenty of variety . The tires on that buggy look like Goodyear R-3's  21.5-16.1 .
I've got Firestone's I-3 powerimplement 21.5 -16.1 , they are a little bit lighter than the Goodyears but even thought the measurements are the same the Good Years are wider.

That's who I was gonna call... They're a friend of the family. Trying to get an idea of what size I want to run. Got any pics of yours you'd care to share?

I sent ya' a  pm , cant post the pics i have due to the large  file size.
I like the 21.5-16.1's because the are from 44" - 46" tall  and 21' wide depending on the make and are pretty easy on the running gear.
The next size down from that are the 18.4-16-1's , couple inches shorter and narrower , St lucie always has plenty of these in stock.

Once you start goin' bigger than the 21.5's  you run into trouble with 1/2 ton axles or lesser. I'm running a closed knuckle 3/4 ton Dana 44 up front and a dana 60 rear . So far I've had no trouble considering that they weigh over  200 lbs a piece.

Thanks for the info..  I've got 2-1/2 ton Ford running gear, so I'd better not break anything. I like that 21.5 tire size. Also if you know of anybody that wants it, I've got 8 lug 3/4 ton front & semi-float 14 bolt rear Chevy complete axle assemblies that can be had for free. I need 'em out of my shop. Thanks again for your help.

I am sorry I havent responded my internet has been down ... those tires I have are 21.5 x 16    i have dana 60's front and rear out of a ditch witch so i didnt have to shorten the axles ... the buggy only weighs 3000lbs so i have no worrys about breaking anything .... the frount bearings i run gear lube instead of grease ... i have them drilled and tapped so i can fill them before i go out... no matter how new the seals are they will slowly leak the gear lube but it seams to keep the bearings in mint condition.  I also drilled and tapped both pumpkins so i can drain them after each trip.  Just some ideas for yall .... have a good one

Where'd you get that transfercase ? Is it a profab  reverse rotation  transfercase or are the axles flipped ? Good job on the buggy , that C-channel saved a lot of weight.

I have a ford 205 transfercase mounted backwards i didnt have to flop the axles... I have a 2.8L frount wheel drive motor... welded the spider gears in the transmision and used one axle going to the 205 thats about it i think LOL I will be at L cross this weekend on saturday it has been a while so i am ichin to go riding talk to yall later
