Post by: Prairie Master on February 21, 2006, 09:36:31 AM
Once florida makes everyone reg their quads are they going to be able to be driven on numbered roads in ocala. Once its registered isn't it considered a liscensed vehicle   :dunno.gif  or are they going to stipulate it doesn't have a tag.

you must be new.

there is a specific statute of the Florida law that SPECIFICALLY bans "ATV"s from being licensed.

It is classified as an "off road vehicle" and the Green  FL registration
that you receive for your Quad is printed across the top
"Off Road Vehicle" and your title sticker is in the middle. It is like a boat sticker, except a boat sticker has to be renewed and ATV title stickers do not have to be renewed.

I doubt they will change and let you ride on the numbered roads as the numbered roads are for trucks and cars and for safety reasons, they do not want ATV's using the same road as trucks and cars.

FWC allows you to ride on named and numbered roads in certain WMA's across the state.  I don't see why it could not be allowed in Ocala.  It's just a matter of them allowing it in there rules.
