Title: Re: River Ranch Post by: Moose on February 20, 2006, 04:49:56 PM When we camped on the riverbed at Jasper, we drove the 4x4 trucks to the camping area we set up 1 mile up stream. The sand was so soft we had to drop the tires air pressure down to 5 psi. Worked great, we had air comp's for when we left. Lot less work than digging out.

Title: Re: River Ranch Post by: Da_Mtg_Man on February 20, 2006, 06:05:06 PM You haven't been out there in a few months though. It is so dry out there that some of the sand on Maingrade is 2-3 ft deep in spots.
Title: Re: River Ranch Post by: Moose on February 20, 2006, 06:46:51 PM Yes, if you have stock or stock type tires, even with 4x4, you'll be much wiser to drop the air pressure down to 5 psi, and drive slow. Then pump back up before you go. Do the same with the trailer tires, it helps when the sand is dry, soft, and deep. You have to stay on top of it.
