Title: Croom Presidents Day?
Post by: Teej on February 14, 2006, 09:55:33 PM
Any families taking their kids to Croom this coming Monday, Feb. 20th?
It is Presidents day and there is no school. We are thinking about going early Mon. AM. Anyone else going to be there?

Hmm, I'll find out if our dad is working. It sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Maybe not croom though.. a bit far.

My wife and I attempted to go camping there this weekend only to find out after driving 90 miles that the campground was completely full at 2 pm on Friday!!!  How many damn ATV'ers have no work in the middle of the week enough to fill the campground???  Anyway, I love seeing our sales tax and title fee dollars at work.....really supplying the demand for campsites...NOT.  The ranger said the campgrounds have been full every Friday through Monday since THANKSGIVING!  I love our glorious state!  >:( >:( Luckily, they DID NOT get my permit fee....I did a U-turn and drove another 65 miles to Ocala and camped at Lake Delancy.....100% better than croom except for no water or electricity.  $6.00 and significantly better trails.  Looks like I won't be returning to Croom anytime soon.

Fortunately we live close enough to take the camper out Fri am before work. Last time we did that there were only a few spots left when we got there.
