Title: 1998 GRIZZLY 600 TIMING CHAIN
Post by: khooping on January 30, 2006, 07:18:31 PM
Hello,

Does anyone know if someone makes a timing chain for a 600 Grizzly that has a link?  I need to replace mine but I don't want to tear down the engine and split the case to change the endless chain.  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

It is impossible to do this job without tearing it down...........

Try this http://216.37.204.203/Yamaha_OEM/YamahaATV.asp?Type=13&A=161&B=7

 #11 if I am correct.

You can order it directly from their........ ;)

Thanks for the info.  I've been all over the internet and can't find any timing chains with links so it looks like I'll have to use the endless OEM.I'm hoping to pull the valve cover and side plates and slide the timing chain down the timing chain passage.   I'll let you know how it goes.   I'm trying to avoid pulling the head off and the jug out.

Thanks Again

Kevin

You dont have to split the cases or take the cylinder head or cylinder off to put a chain in this quad.

Send me a pm if you need any help. I will try to help you as much as I can.
