Title: Maybe we should talk to the big 3?
Post by: Mars on January 14, 2006, 12:25:59 PM
Think about it, FL #8 in off-road sales. If you can't ride why would you buy?
Anyone know someone at Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha?

I was just thinking that... Why sell them if they wont let you ride one? Why make it so easy to get one, but so hard to find a place to ride.

We have the same problem in the boating community...too many no-wake zones and too many manatee huggers.

The big manufacturers won't spend profit on heliping their customers..stupid huh?

Your right. It's illegal in some areas for me to get on plane to get in the backwoods just to go fishing. There was a report out from the State and manatee huggers that said something like 800 manatees are alive in the Gulf. A university did research and said the found over 8,000.

I had been shopping around for a new quad, but with this latest news I just don't know.
I enjoy riding a lot but 4.5 hour drive for 40 miles of tails? I don't think so. n 40 sq. miles maybe.

the big 3 won't do nothing about it untill their $$$ are being affected that's just how big companies do, when we stop buying the toys they'll start doing something. i personally think they should buy land and give it to the state so they don't get sue (sp) and help the state maintain it, also give like a 6 month menbership or something of that kind so can enjoy your new toy and them you can buy the member ship. just an idea.

The "Big 3" sell atvs worldwide. They do not feel the pinch of the problem (for them slowed sales) in Florida.

Although the problem is not limited to Florida (I hear other states are way ahead of us in number of places to ride) the Big 3 should take notice of the problem and that it could spread.

Check the prices of land lately? Forget about them giving that kind money up for some Floirda riders.

i've been reading in the local tampa papers about land being lost to developement that was used or could be used for marinas and boat ramps. it's not looking good, if this crap continues eventually there'll be no places to ride, no places to hunt, and not many places to launch the boat.
