R.I.P. Dale Earnhardt. I followed him since the days of the pink car...anybody remember that ride?
I never thought I would like Jr. When he first came up I thought he was a punk. His daddy gave him a few lessons he learned late about how to conudct yourself.... I like him a lot now, but not because he is his pappy's kid. He earned my respect this year. Martin is an old favorite, would love to see him top the kids just once. Kahne is one spot away from victory too often, would love to see him win. I have a lot of favorites now that Dale is gone. I guess my 2 favorite drivers are, Jr., and anyone who puts weasel head Gordon in the wall ;D

I consider myself fortunate to have met Martin and Kenseth and can attest that they are both nice guys, but out of the two of them, Kenseth is the better person.

88 fan for many years,  1999 was the best year,  I was in Homestead when he clinched the championship by a very large margin.  When he retires I will probably go with a couple of guys.  I like the 20, 9, 38 and anybody but the 24. I'll probably take some heat for this, but I think Stewart is the best driver out there.  I also like the 31.  I have a feeling that the 20 may pull out and win the cup this year.

No doubt that 20 is a great driver. I would love to have the chance to meet him so that I could fold his teeth back.Again, great driver but he is a freakin punk that needs to be suspended for an entire season.

Its like the New York Yankies... When one team or Driver wins all the time people start to Love them or Hate them. Dale Earnhardt #3 was a great driver with a lot of fans. But also had a lot of people that booed him.

#8 #2 #6 I have always been a fan of the "man in black" since the wrangler days and it was sad when he passed. Also was a big fan of "King Richard", the old school races they air on speed channel are great.

i agree kyle pettys charity is great but i dont see why he still gets sponsers. you would thing he could place in the top 5 every now and then, even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while. i like #97. i used to like rusty but he is a bit of a whiner.

Title: Re: NASCAR
Post by: robo02cop on September 12, 2004, 06:14:38 AM
Yup Mayfield won.....I have always been a fan of Earnhardt since I was old enough to say who my favorite driver.  I saw at Jr. race at Daytona in his first busch season and have liked him every since (that was also the year that Sr. won!) I want Jr. to win every race but after watching Nascar 360 this year I have more respect for a couple of other drivers and Mayfield deserved the win last night so congrats to him!

P.S. anyone that puts the gay racing team of 24 and 48 in the wall definately gets a big round of applause!!!!! ;D

there was none better than PETTY SR. 2nd all time #3 because he was a racer not a cry baby and now its JR. because hes carring the torch for the old man.

4th all time is anyone that takes out 24 ;D

Title: Re: NASCAR
Post by: budman on September 12, 2004, 08:20:51 AM
Yo dreth, I agree with you, except let Jr carry his own torch....he needs to be himself and not be held up to be like his pappy, or to be any thing other than a hard charger cuz of his own talent. As for Sr. being a racer instead of a whiner, I quote THE MAN himself  when drivers complained about the cars going too fast at Talladega...."If your'e not a race driver, stay the hell home. Don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Get the hell out of the race car if you got feathers on your legs or butt. Put a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up there and eat that candy ass."

Gotta love that 6 car I think this year he will lay it a little
more out there on the line.If he could just get his car better
on those restarts towards the end.16 is looking real strong
You guys may not like the 20 car but Tony Stewart will race
anywhere any time.

Post by: GaryinSeffner on March 11, 2005, 03:21:41 PM
I'm not sure why this thread ever faded away but I like it ;D

I'll take the 6 car all day any day. There are alot of good drivers though. Martin is one of the classiest drivers ever and he manages to play nice and win so hats off to him. This year being his last full season I sure hope he can make it memorable. He's off to a good start and who knows....maybe for once he wont finish 2nd behind a young stud. He does have more 2nd places than any driver all time....for the title that is. Lets see what happens.

to be continued,,,,,,,,,,

My hearts been with the Earnhardts since the beginning. I was devistated and watched the race that day. An hour or two later when they announced that we lost Dale I was a mess. He was a man doing it his way. That espn movie of his life was great 3.

rip Dale and Niel Bonnet

I was gonna bite my toung but I can't. You are surely entitled to your opinion there but to call a professional race car driver of NASCAR caliber nonathletic is just an uneducated comment.
