I am curious as to who has been riding the longest only within the state.  If you started somewhere else let me know where.  I myself started riding in 1980 on a Honda 90 trike at Holiday Park.

Anyone else?

Well, I started on a honda mini trail 50 (with the fat tires) in 1975 and rode that for several years. I then got an xr 100 in about 1980 or 81, over the next 5 yrs I moved to a cr125 and then a cr250. In 1983 (I think) I got a 250sx and in 1985 I got a Yamaha Tri-Z 250. After that I graduated high school and faded away from riding for several years and then started again in the late 90's. I don't plan on quiting again for a long time.

started at the age of 5 which would be 1982 with a Honda 50(2-wheeler and 4-wheeler later) but they were owned by some friends of the family,,,later we finally got a Honda Fourtrax 200(1988).

All in the Orlando area except when we went to Big Scrub or Croom(when they were great places)

Started ridin' atc's in 1977 . My first was a 90 as well then maybe a 2 years later Honda put out the 185 with the round head light . This was the predicessor to the 200 big red .
We rode all over south florida , West Hollywood Blvd when pines blvd was 2 lanes from University drive to US 27 by Holly Lake . Also rode by the old Hollywood sportatorium before Chapel trail was built , Willy's bar on the south side of the the Blvd all the way to Snake Creek canal.
Holiday Park was another good spot by the FPL substation /power lines .
8 st to the Chickeeka bordering the Everglades National Park Boundary.
Put a lot miles on them Hondas .

When ever i remember those times when one could ride for what seemed liked an eternity to what kids go through nowadays , its depressing .
Not as much fun as it used tobe .

I know Da_Mtg_Man was waiting on me to answer to show how old I am, started with the dirt bikes in the early 70's, Yamaha 125 enduro, went to a 175 and then 250, rode some of the Florida Trail Riders Enduro's back then also for those that even can remember these had 2 Ossa 175cc, and at one time had a Maico. Does anyone here even rember these bikes??? Actually still havethe frame for a 1974  or 75 I think dt250 Yamaha.

1978, on a used ATC 90, then moved to a ATC 110 in 1980, then an ATC 200x in 1984, then a CR250 in 1986, then in 1992 I bought an ATC 250r, sold it 2 years ago & bought a KFX400. The 250r was the baddest 3wheeler ever made! Mine was bord .020, reeds, durablue +2, trekkers w/10" wheels, renthals, it would scare you or run right out from underneath you if you didnt hold on when the powerband hit. I finally gave in to big brother & bought a quad since my beloved 3-wheelers were outlawed & deemed unsafe by our wonderful friends at the CSPC. Roll Eyes

Huh I started riding on a Bultaco 49 in 1976. switched to a Suzuki RM 175 in 1978. Did some riding in the 80's and early 90's, then got the Sportsman in 2003. So I guess I'm a rookie to ATV's. Undecided

Indianjoe:  How well I can relate.  In the early 70's I rode Puch, Penton enduro bilkes all over Florida.  Raced the Alligator Enduro and the Croom Enduro every year as well as hundreds of hours on Ocala.  Raced Ossa 175 and 250 Stelleto, Husqavarna 250 and 400 and CZ 125 and 250 in Motocross at the old Orlando Sports Stadium track, Gatorback in Gainesville and New Smyrna speedway as well as many others.  Rode some early three weelers.  Kinda got out of the sport for some years continuing to do off road with jeeps and 4 wheel drive trucks.  got back into ATVs as my kids grew up starting about 10 years ago and have been riding again since.

Jr...Lots of good memories getting kicked up here especially the Alligator Enduro, I remember the arrows getting taken down and me and 3 other riders ridng right into the Hells Angels camp was kinda of scary but everything was cool they guided us back to the trail. And man I forgot about the Penton bikes what awesome bikes they were, dominated the enduro scene for a while.

Indianjoe:  For some really great memories, you need to break out a copy of the original " On Any Sunday" Movie.  Really great movies.  It was a small international fraternity of off road motorcycle riders.  Malcome Smith of enduro fame, Gary Bailey and others of motocross fame.  A lot of the motocross riders of today are their kids and their kids kids.  I was blessed to ride with a lot of very famous great riders.

Yes I also remeber the Alligator taking folks into the camps of the Hells Angels, Outlaws and other gangs who used to camp in the Crystal Lake area of Daytona for motorcycle week.

Trail 50 and Trail 70 in the mid-late 70s in Keystone Heights, in the 80s in Middleburg, I had a Yamaha 125 and a Suzuki 125 enduro while my friends had an 81 Odyssey, a Big Red, a 200x and my brother had an 86 250r. I also tried to follow on my Honda cb360 Grin Now I just got back into them after many years of VWs. My brother just sold his warrior and got a raptor 660 and i'll have a new one in a few months hopefully.

1978 on the gas tank of an old husky 250 on the railroad tracks with pops in PA.  1980 on a trail 50 then a trail 70,  moved up to a cr60 in 85 or 86 can't really remember.  I've had a 86 tri-z, 86 atc250r, xl125, cr125, yz490, that was a fun ride until my neighbor tried to jump it over a pond.  I also had a number of streetbikes and now I have a kfx400.

Speaking of a blast from the past I remember my uncle having a hodaka that would spit the rings out the exhaust,  and my pops had a penton that ran forever.

While I'm not from Florida....been riding since '70, on a first year '69 Honda US90 at the age of 4 in the U.P. of Michigan. a US90 that was my GRANDMOTHERS. She used it to get back to the lakes to fish on the logging roads. I miss those days.

P.S.  The ban on 3 wheelers was only for the manufacturers. It was not illegal to own or ride 1. Dealers could no longer sell them to the public. This did not effect the private sellers.
