PROBALY 3 -5 YEARS OLD


I found her in the O.N.F starving and infested with fleas and ticks. She could not walk and was very skinny im guessing she was out there for at least 2 weeks. Any ways I brought her home and fed and cleaned her spent hours removing ticks and shampooing again and feeding her more. She has perked right up and is a very easygoing dog ALMOST skittish. So far seems good around kids loves to play and listens pretty good. She still needs a couple of trips to the vets, which I will gladly do, but she needs a permanent home hunting or as a good lap dog. I have had here come up and lay in my lap she is a little big but cute nonetheless. Im not a hunter but the one thing about here is if she starts putting her nose to the ground she’s not far from taking off running. Do not know where she is going or what she is after but that might me a draw back to some or a good thing to others. She still needs so more time to recover but in a week or two, she will be ready for someone to give here a proper home. Let me know. Thanks

makes me sad when I hear about the dogs left out there.

makes me want to leave whoever left them out there chained to a tree in the middle of the woods for a few days and see how well they do.

why do hunters leave dogs out there? Anyway was she chained to a tree when u found her? Try www.petfinder.com

I doubt she was chained to a tree,,,,,but my idea to chain the hunter to a tree was to prevent them from walking to the nearest road and hitching a ride like a dog cannot do.

I wish I knew why some hunters leave their dogs out there,,,maybe they have so many that they miscount at the end of the day,,,,maybe one runs off and they can't call them back, I dunno, but it's aggravating.

It may not be that the owner intentionally left the dog. We have lost dogs and only recovered them because of ID tags on the collar. Even then it could have been hours or days before we got a call. Your a good person for taking it in and I hope you find it a good home.

I agree with Ironside that all the deerdog owners that I know buy collars for each of there dogs. They put there name,number,address and cb channel that they are hunting on so you can contact them if you find there dogs. I think that you are doing a great job caring for that dog and someone will give it a good home.

Tickcy (what we have called her since we found her because she was covered in ticks) had no chip, collar, and tag of any kind. Well bad news. She has a middle stage of heart worms. They say that she could most likely be saved but at her stage it may not help her or even worse it could cause her to have a bad couple of days and may still be lost. It is the recommendation that she live out her days while still able to move around pretty good and be put to sleep at a point when she can no longer handle the pain. Or put her to sleep now. As much as I love animals I cant afford to the $500 heart worm treatment little lone the dog for to long so I regret to inform you that unless someone would like to give here a good home until its time I will have to put her to sleep. I will give here the best life possible till wed. Afternoon. Thanks and sorry

If she is in middle stages of heartworms, she will probably not survive. They have to be caught fairly early. Give her lots of loving and send her on to a better place. God bless you for giving her so much love and care while you had her. Sometimes the best thing you can do is let them go. You're a wonderful person, and I respect you tremendously.
