 Cool, I just got 2 new rear tires(Dunlop) and they wouldn't
stay air'd up so I put tubes in them. Now I am having trouble w/ the wheel turning inside the tire and its not good for the tubes obviously. I told a guy at work about it and he says for me to just but some short tapcons the wont go all the way through the bead. w/ a clock like patern. Has any one here ever heard of this that could tell me Heck no dont do it or maybe yes to do it. My wheels are aluminum ITP w/ a double
lip bead and they are on a stock Honda 400EX. Thanks for any help..... Cool

Both before and after the tubes they were. I have a friend who works for a tire center who put them on. these are the 2nd set of tires that leaked air out fromm around the bead area. Only thing I can think of it that the first guy who put the other tires on bent my wheels around the bead area and thats why they wont hold air. You can push your thumbs into the sidewall close to the wheel and the tire meet and it would blow air out. So I opted to try the tuble thing out and now I am having to deal w/ the wheel spin. Icant really afford to just go out and by new wheels right now and I am going to Ocala this month for the weekend 29th and I need to do something to keep the wheel from spinning. I hate to drill hols ion the wheels so I thought I d ask you all about it....

When I was drag raceing and running slicks we would drill holes in the rims and put short sheet metal screws in the bead to keep the tires from turning on the rims. It worked. Just a thought. How much air are you putting in the tires when you are seating the beads. Go to the max press to seat the bead then let air out to press you want.

I actually pumped the tire up to 30psi and then let it down to around 5 psi running pressure....
As for the drag tire I was told that you are forceing the tire straight up and down on the wheel so that would work but on a 4 wheeler tire w/ a lot of side to side torque on the side wall that the screws were a bad idea. I am willing to do it if someone else has proven it to work....Thanks for the input so far... Cool

I put 22 dollars worth of green slime in the last set of tires I had. It worked until I drove through some deep water and then they went flat on me....

i have an extra set of stock rims you can use till you get the other figured out or the money to buy some new ones. they just sit in my garage and take up space so let me know
