The shop you bought your parts from will probably do it for free if you ask.

So i should just call them and ask them if they will hone it out for free? also if i did it at home would i have to take the motor off anyways or just the top of the cylinder head?

You don't have to pull out the whole motor. You have to pull off the head and the cylinder. Then take just the cylinder and the piston to the shop. If they won't do it for free at the place you bought it I can get it done for you at a good price.

I'm sure if you buy the parts from Haps in Sarasota they will hone it for you. If they charge you it would probably be less than $30.

Buy a shop manual and follow the directions. Just a guess, but I think you are new to wrenching.

Did you go one size over on the piston and rings, or did you stay stock bore? If you went one size over a hone isnt gonna do it,you have to bore it. If you stay stock measure the ring end gap with new rings and see what ya got,and go from there. Ask your friend's dad he should know what to do.
