This site isn't about get caught in the middle of some family fued. If threats are being made to another user, I suggest you call the police. I'll cooperate in any way I can by providing user information to the best of my ability. I have not seen any threats posted publically or any evidence of such a thing. Simply PMing me that you think someone did this or think someone did that doesn't give me much to go on. I investigate and find no evidence to the accusation so nothing is done. If I act without evidence then it becomes very easy for someone to manipulate the system and it would be better to ban both parties invovled. I don't want to do that as it seems unfair.
A lot of this so called "drama" pops of from users trolling and trying to bait others into a flame war. I found this great article on this topic that can help identify this situation.
http://curezone.com/forums/troll.asp
Myself and the moderators of this site have put in place a warning system and 3 strikes and your out rule for unruly posts and offending users.
I tried to install an Ignore user option to help with the situation but it was incompatible with the forum's latest upgrade. I can only wait for an update for that modification.
A number of users keep posting about the down turn of this site. Sorry, but I don't see it. I see 200 new users and 15,000 posts monthly with this number growing every month. I see 14 pages of items for sale in the classifieds that's all posted for free. In the Photo Gallery I see numerous groups rides with people having a blast and many more planned in the Group Ride & Events section. The Where to Ride section is packed full of locations along with the Croom GPS map I posted that's an interest for anyone on an ATV. Plus, an Ocala map is in the works. All the other setions not mentioned are full of great threads for us all to enjoy and participate.
So lets get over and move on from these types of posts and enjoy it for what it was and still is, a place for Florida ATV enthusiasts to share ideas, plan rides and talk about good times, past, present and future.

You simply have no idea what it takes to manage almost 4000 people and be expected to fix, find or delete everyones post that feels they were targeted.

Budman,
Don't you insult me saying I don't care about the users of this site, because I do, deeply. I have been working on this site everyday for 3 years and will continue to do so even when my hands hurt so bad I can hardly type from carpal tunnell. Riding and working on ATVs and motorcycles is the only therapy I have for this condition outside of surgery of which I want to avoid at all costs.
So consider this a warning to you to stop personal attacks that you perpetuate all by yourself of which you said you were leaving the site for in the first place.

If you and your neighbor get into a shouting match do you call the police to come and moderate your disagreement? No. Grown mature men can talk to one another and work things out. I don't think it is the moderators job to handle these issues either. I was not privy to what happened to the Grizzes but I hope they do come back. A moderator should be here to cut out the cursing and make sure the site is running smoothly. They are not referees. That is my take on it.

Most bulletin boards do not allow personal attacks on members, and have harsh penalties to deal with abusers:
You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate,
abusive,
vulgar,
hateful, harassing
, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law.

I'm gonna chime in here like it or not. This site has certain outstanding individuals that contribute to different aspects of OUR COMMUNITY!!
GRIZZ, DRETH< Bones<Ida DA_MTG etc etc....and I can go on. The Grizz really enjoys this sport and he and mamma are kind enough to share there experiences with us. That's not taking in to account all the help he (THEY) have given when needed to we individuals. I don't know what was said but it must have been pretty bad for an easy going guy like the Grizz and mamma to walk away. Who else shares they're experiences up in the snow and all over the US. Who ever made the comments needs to make a public apology and maybe delete there account. Or maybe we need a POLL god forbid. Bones your correct this site is growing, but maybe it needs a little guidance. I would think that mamma and grizz are watching to some extent what's going on and for all of us that REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE there presents and contributions would like to know what was done, said or threatened. The MORAL MAJORITY seems to agree. WTF I do everything I can to help ANYONE weather I know them or not to help in ANY way possible with what ever. This is total BS. Getting over it and sweeping it under the carpet does one thing, like politicians, it quiets everyone down.
I FOR ONE WON"T stand for it. With ALL RESPECT BONES (because you have helped me) help us keep them or get them back for OUR SAKE. Every site has stars like a great football team. And we just traded off two great players to epees a few.
CAN I GET A HELL YEAH?
??
I was so happy for the Grizz's when they got the new bikes and looked forward to seeding them ENJOYING THEM. NOW I'll BE LUCKY TO RUN IN TO THOSE GREAT FOLK ON THE TRAILS.
IF THIS OFFENDS OR TICKS ANYONE OFF TOO d**n BAD,
WE are adults and it should have been worked out. Maybe it wasn't one incident maybe it was all the childish stuff that has been goin on. That's what Yahoo or Msn or AOL are for NOT HERE.
THIS IS ATVFLORIDA A FAMILY SITE!!and I love and apprciate this site. Many of you helped me through some very very hard times lately and I thank all of you for the support, you know who you are.
Even if there is irrepairable damage done the concerned members desere to know.
If this was a paying site it would be different but posting here is a privlage.
IF YOU DISAGREE WITH SOMETHING ITS NOT PERSONAL, CHANGE THE CHANNEL!

Mr. Bones, I know this is off topic but surgery is not your only option for carpal tunnel. Check out a chiropractor. Whether you believe or not it often times does work.

i dont want to be mean, but im pretty sure there was a sticky about "thread hijacking", and from what i understand that means getting off topic. so lets get back on topic. somehow we've gotten way off.
MrBones and the moderators can only do so much, if its threats that are coming from a user/multiple users on the website the grizz family should private message mrbones and have him banned, and ask for the IP and ISP (internet service provider) of the user(s). With that information you can call the ISP (or the police) and if you provide them proof you can get the user(s)'s personal information, and sometimes even have their internet canceled for violating the ISP's AUP (acceptable use policy), depending on the situation. With that information i would then call the police and file a report or whatever needs to be done.
If its offsite threats, but the user just happens to be on the website, MrBones and the moderators can't do anything about it, sure they could ban people just for the heck of it but thats just not right. So unless the personal threats are being made using the ATVFL forums then they can still only do so much about it. MrBones and the mods aren't police, they cant take the guy to jail for threatening people, they can only ban them and provide
very little
information.
Dont get me wrong i think the grizz family are nice people. I'm just saying what i know.

Just coming in late on the whole storm but seems like its more like online
Jerry Springer lately.I know there is no way humanly possible to police all
of site.Folks let get back to basics why we all enjoyed this place.Love of
riding and people of different backgrounds and social status who loved the
same thing. All the threads on political and religious and personal lifestyles
have just about ruined it for me.As for the Grizz and family anyone who
has never met or interacted with them you should.I met Claude at the LMK
ride and camped next to him and the guys.He had just met me and in less
than 20 min made me feel welcome. Also great guy to drink a cold one and
fire up the grill with.It is a sad loss of such an open hearted giving person
and caring family. As well as representative of how we all should be toward
each other.Shame to lose members like them do to some @#$$

I hope they dont let a couple people ruin their experience on ATVFL. Have them get the IP(s) from MrBones and report them to the police!
