PRAYERS FOR ALL INVOLVED.  Acquaintances of mine have lost their 6 year old in an ATV accident.  The situation is horrible and painful. It could have been prevented.  We all think sometimes, "oh that won't happen to me" and we have to suffer the consequences of our actions if it does.  However, all these parents and family members need our prayers no matter whose fault this terrible accident is blamed on.  The 12 year old is in critical condition with no life-threatening complications.  You all can probably figure out the accident just by the players involved.  These parents need forgiveness and prayers.  They are suffering the consequences of their actions.  We all need to learn from these useless accidents.  We can choose to be negligent for ourselves, but we must be responsible for the little ones that dont know what the right choices are yet.

I am very sorry for the loss of your friends child. Losing someone in an accident is always hard, but even harder when the responsible parties know how preventable the accident could have been. I hope the 12 year old pulls through fine. I'll send a few prayers their way most definately.  Cry

A lady who has known me since I was about 5 years old, and whom I work with here just emailed me about the same incident.  These people are friends of her sister's near Gainesville.

Small world.

consider prayers done.

GSPKurt, This is a different accident.  I know, its crazy.  Two accidents in one week and we know both families.  It is tragic.  The one we were telling you about this weekend was about Jeffrey Strickland (from Bell) (who he and his family need PRAYERS as well).  Jeffrey and a vehicle collided.  Still not sure of the details.  He is in critical condition still as well. (serious head injuries)  This 6 year old is from a family we know at Augie's work.    The 12 year old is a friend of the family.  They were riding without gear on his 80 acre+ estate (12 year old driving with 6 year old on back)  They did not come back and he went looking for them and found them under the bike.  He tried to revive his 6 year old without any success.  The crazy thing is that he is a very very very safety first type guy.   DEAR GOD, PRAYERS FOR PEACE AND STRENGTH FOR THESE POOR FAMILIES!!!

This is horrible news, I hope the 12 yr old pulls through. Very sad indeed, My 7 yr old rides his atv with me and I am overly paranoid. Always preaching saftey to him.  I want him to respect his atv.

Why would god take a 6 year old it is just so sad.
I would love for my kids to be able to ride just as good as me when they first start off but you have to teach them that.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and children that were injured.  Thank you for posting this little reminder.  I hope some of the parents will reconsider what they let their kids ride and what protective gear they have on.

Sounds like chest protectors and helmets may have prevented some of the injuries.

Again I'm just very sorry for their loss.
