He is one of the strongest, most inspirational, stand up, and ethical individuals Ive ever had the pleasure to meet!  Please keep you prayers coming!!!!  If anyone can "will" this incident to a positive one, it would be Scott!! But he needs the prayers! thanx

I have to admit, I've never been much on prayer, but I did it for Colton and Borise as well as their families. Hope all is well soon.

It's a great man that can ask for help for others even when he needs it so desperately himself. Boris is added to my family's prayer list, and you and Colton are right at the top. I pray that God will give you strength in this time of need. Let Colton know we're all praying for him and anxiously look forward to news of a full recovery. God bless.

Have you discussed the possibility of the split brain procedure with the doctor? It is usually only when other methods fail to control seizures, but it can stop them and the potential damage they may cause if left unchecked. Just something to ask the doctor about.

No I have never heard of this procedure Cain.  The MRI is complete and we should have the reslts in the A.M. Thank you all again for your payers!! Mike and Jenn came to see us again  today and it was a  nice break, thank you both again. I hate to ask you all this as yolu have done so much for us and Borise but this is such a sad place to be... I would like to ask for your prayers for a new baby to our growing circle of babys with no family. Lucenia was brought to the room to share it with Colton,  Borise and sherry and I today, she has n o family becouse she lives in a foster home and has no  one to visit her. The beautiful babys all alone ... so sad. Pray for her to find a family and someone to love her. I cannot beleive how difficult this is, our little angel Colton ... the thought of never seeing him smile again or laugh, it b reaks our hearts. My prayers are for his mother Sherry, my wife so thatI may continue to be strong for her and that she ramains possitive no matter the outcome.
We are blessed to have baby Colton no matter the results of the MRI, he is our little man, our angel!!
hank you all for your thoughts and prayers and kiknd words, you give us something to look forward to each day!! than you all again and GOD BLESS!!!

The split brain procedure (I know a little about - but I'm far from a doctor) is sometimes used when no other method is successful in stopping the seizures. It seperates the two sides of the brain. I severs the neural connections that go from one side to the other and stops the seizures. My wife said that the was an aritcle on it in the Sunday Tampa Tribune. It does have other side effects, but none of which is even close to retardation. And these side effects can be adapted to. Since the signals from the right control the left and vice versa, and the left side of the brain controls language (for the most part) if your son were holding something in his right hand where he could not see it he would probably not be able to tell you what it is due to that procedure. However, in cases where it would be such a side effecct versus a retarded state, the side effect is obviously preferred. Usually this procedure is opted for after trying at least 2 different drug treatments to control the seizing. I am unfamiliar with infantile spasms, and therefore don't know if this is a viable option to treat Colton or not. I would recommend asking the doctor about it. They are finding through research that the earlier this procedure is performed (reducing the total amount of seizures endured) greatly reduces the liklihood of brain damage/retardation. And they have found that due to the amazing plasticity of the young brain, that most young patients due very well adapting and recovering. No matter what method is used, I pray for a speedy full recovery of your son.

Cain thank you for your prayers, thank you all!!! I did mention this to the Dr. and he does n ot feel this is a viable option @ this point as we are still not sure what had caused this. Idiopathic is the term b eing used alot (no reason) they say this is age dependant and if they canm not find a cause then he has a better chance @ recovery.

We watched our son smile this morning, so all of the prayers are working, thank you God!!

I will continue to update if you continue the prayers (when  i can find a computer).

Thank you all soooo much again!!!

hes on the road to recovery. remember keep a positive confession.

always confess "he is fine, there is nothing wrong with him" and god and his angels will work miracles.

Heb 10:23 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Ro 10:10 -
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

your confession is a powerful thing. do not take it for granted. "confession of our hope" confess your hope/faith and god and your angels will hear.

Good point Gery. There is a saying my Mother taught me "you can have what you say so quit saying what you have". Which goes with the positive confession. If you say I'm sick you can have it. Say Great health and it too can be had.
Swamp - Glad to hear things are looking good. I personally know how scary and trying a time this can be. When my daughter had febrile seizures (usually last a short period of time) that lasted for over an hour each time, the doctors were stumped. Even after the spinal tap, cat scan, mri, ekg, etc, etc. they had no clue. Ad I said she is in perfect health with no side effects. We'll keep praying that God may bless you in the same way.

update from the outside.
I went to see Colton this afternoon and I am happy to say that he was more alert than I've seen him, He's jibber jabbering and moving his arms and legs around like a typical 5 month old. We definitely need to keep the prayers up because he is not in the clear but he did look much better today.

Haha... at least Colton is keep a sense of humor about him... nothing better then peeing on the nurse Wink I hope all goes well with the new MRI, I'm sure that as soon as they find where the problem is, they will be able to correct it ASAP.
