   We just ordered the Garmin eTrex Vista Color GPS and would like to know what is the best mounting for this.........

you can get garmins handlebar mount for it, but if you really want a nice mount get a ram mount you can buy the molded plastic piece to fit ur unit and then get all sorts of bases to use in different places. http://65.102.174.119/rammount/productdetail.aspx?partnumber=RAM-B-138-GA5

Look here, item 5 -
(Bigscrb15 is close, but that won't fit the Vista Color model.)

No problemo. The only reason I caught it, was Susie's husband called me earlier tonight, saying that the regular eTrex mount won't fit the color model.

I've already broke a garmin mount.  Although expensive, I'm considering one of these.

I got a ram mount on ebay for $23, but I was lucky. They're about $35 regular. Check here and other places. Ram mounts are worth the price, you can put them just about anywhere you want and lock it down.
