Hatfield mccoy trails

Hey,

I'm thinking this summer I'm going to go to the hatifeld mccoy trails. They look so awsome. I'm probably going to fly up and rent a quad. Does anyone have the name of a good rental place? Thanks.

Also if you've been there please post pics.

I had the same idea. I was planning a trip all summer..Now its September and I still have not gone. I am busy traveling for work on Weekends and just don't get a chance. If it were closer, I would drive..but its almost 1000 miles.
I was going to ship the quad up  and then fly up, but that is too time consuming and expensive. Renting is an option..but what do they rent? anything decent? I see from some rental location..the average rental is  about $175.00 per day.

Hi Guys,

ATV Rentals usually cost about $150 a day.  Some businesses discount the price after the first day.  If you ever plan a trip and need information on ATV rentals, don't hesitate me for additional information.

what kind of atv do they rent there

  I am just getting started into ATV'ing...but seems  to me a thousand miles is not that far if you put a quad in back of a truck, tow one on a trailer
share driving time and fuel expenses.
  Heck, I towed my Goldwing from daytona to binghamton , NY this past June.
  Took my girlfreind for an ATV ride on my friends Vinson.  She fell off before we got to the trail (behind his backyard) and hurt her back.
   I put about 95 miles on my Goldwing....that I towed about 1300 miles!!!  Talk about upset.....LOL
   I bet if you pick a time to travel to hatfield-mcCoy, someone may have the same plans and you could hook-up?
  Now, finding someone with the same riding skills and other habits is not
assured    (no rap music while I am driving please).......but they still may help you get there?
   Just an idea....since I may plan to go there sometime next year.

I just got back from a trip to Western PA...To check the area out. I am so sick of Florida..The summer heat, the Traffic, the people not speaking english, the crime, the flat landscape..etc..  I gre up in new England and was able to ride out my back door for days.

I found Western PA ( near pittsburgh and suburbs) one of the best riding locations I have seen. I just drove around and ran into so many people riding. I stopped and talked with them.. and they said the trails are endless and many are on private property and the owners don't mind at all (some even made parking spots for the riders). The terrain can be sandy, muddy, forest, trails, coalmines, old rail lines, rivers, cliffs...everything! The only thing ATV owners need is  to register thier bike and have insurance (usually about $125 year for liabilty and theft).

The other plus is that housing is relativly cheap.... a house that would sell for  $450,000 in Ft.Lauderdale would be about $85,000 up there.

The pay scale is not the same, but since I own my own business, it does not matter where I live. I just want a place where I can ride anytime (even at night everyone says). The traffic is not bad at all.

There is also HUGE amounts of  Forst riding within a few hours....even Hatfield McCoy is about 4 hours. There are Lots of mud racing and motocross tracks within minutes.

Yes the drawback is the cold winters... But I will be living in Florida for the worst months, and even so.. I am going to buy a country farm and snowmobiling is fun.
Just wanted to pass along my experience.
Don't forget... "1  in 30 Pennsylvania residents own an ATV"

this is njoutlaw. Yea I'm from new jersey and I love the riding up there. Except in the state of new jersey they try to make everything illegal. riding abandonded rail road tracks is the best. What I'd like to do is once I get married down here in florida i'll move back to pa or possibly new jersey if the laws get less strict.

see it sucks because the business I want to get into requires me to live close to a major city like new york or philidelphia.

All the  businesses that rent quads in the areas around the Hatfield McCoy Trails all rent utility quads.  Different businesses rent different utility quads (Hondas, Kawasakis, Polaris,etc.).
