My wife who is on the smaller side..5'5 116lb rides a Suzuki Z250 and loves it. She can keep up with the sport bikes and still go through enough mud to make her happy.

Last year I rode the 250z they rent at Durhamtown Plantation and was impressed. The auto-clutch is easy to use and you just shift with your foot whenever you are ready. You can get the front up if you really work at it but not nearly as easily as the 400 due to the power difference so it's safer for the younger crowd. I think in the last 250 shootout the Suzuki beat out Honda in most performance areas.

Eric, you are right. The Z250 beat out the other 250s in some "shootout"/"test" they had this past year. The looks, feel, and smooth ride conviced us this was the bike to get my wife. I've ridden both the Z250 and Z400 and surprisingly the Z250 is just as smooth as the 400.

go with 250ex dude... they're quick but not too quick they do about 55 or 56 a recon doesnt go as fast and it has slower acceleration... When i was 8 I was riding a 250EX and i handled it good still in the middle of 4th gear
