Getting robbed at the pumps again
«
on:
September 01, 2005, 08:12:50 AM »
Right at $3.00 per gallon. This is nuts. Some cry about liberating millions from a homicidal maniac and terrorist supporter, well I'm for another invasion just to get oil at this point.
Make sure you check and adjust you tire pressure to proper inflation.
And make sure you have a good, clean air cleaner. Investing in a high quality one like K&N wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Both of these things can help maximize your miles per gallon.
In these times of energy crisis (brought on partially by natural disaster and partially by economic terrorism) we need to do all we can to get by.

I'm so pissed. I own 3 v8's and everytime I pass a gas station I want to blow it up. I wish I could make my own gas. Or switch my daily driver to run on propane if that's cheaper. I know the gas trucks run off it. I'm seriously contimplating asking my boss if I can work from home. This is getting ridiculous. -Mark

I can understand your anger at these ridiculous gas prices, but we seriously cannot afford to thin our military anymore. The best thing we can do for our military is have our government/oil companies continue hiring guerilla armies or helping politicians who will support their agenda in Africa and Central/South America to get control of the oil.
I think your on the right track with the tire pressure and air cleaner. I would like to add changing the oil if it's been a while, fuel system cleaner, tune-up and getting in the habit of not slamming on the gas or brake pedal. If anyone else can think of other solutions to the rising gas prices please feel free to post

We don’t need to know the way home

OK, I'm just having a hard time listening to people whine about the price of gas and how much the government and the president is taking us for, etc. etc. I don't really like it either, but there are more important things in life.
Please just remember that hundreds if not thousands of people have lost their lives, hundreds of thousands have lost all their cars and their pets and their homes. You think they really care about the price of gas?

Dude this is a typical republican responce. Were not getting any oil out of Iraq. The only way to fix the gas problem is to pump the oil out of Iraq and sell it the the United States only. Pretty soon people will riot about gas prices. I paid 3.00 a gallon today. luckly I only have a 6 cyclinder.

I just saw a report 1:45PM THURS That a reporter in the edge of the destruction just got gas at a station that recieved a 10k gallon load and paid 2.79 a gallon for reg unleaded. Thats such a loasd of S#!T. And in Atlanta there are stations charging 5-6 dollars a gallon. Why are they not stepping in and cherging these people with price gouging. They might as well stand at the pumps with a gun to your head and tell you to empty your wallet and maybe you can have some fuel. UUGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

the probem is that it cost alot more to transport the fuel because shippers charge more cause of raising fuel cost. thats why gas cost more. its a viscious cycle.

First off, we don't need to be at the mercy of ANY country for our oil needs. What happens when China or Iran, possibly Russia decide to keep tankers from reaching the USA? Then people will be crying about how our government has let us down. I say they have let us down by not opening the reserves in Alaska and off the continental shelf to drilling and exploring. What I am not saying is that Iraq was not about oil. My belief is we should drill for our own oil and let the Muslims fight amongst themselves and if they bring their fight to other places in the world then we go create glass parking lots in those countries. There is no reason, other than the eco terrorists and the nimbys (not in my back yard), for our gas prices to be where they are. What do you think is really happening? Your elected officials know that if they close the faucet on the oil that they control you. It's the same with the income tax and single payer healthcare. But the majority of people in this country want to be taken care of instead of being allowed to succeed or fail. I want the liberty to do what I am capable and not be over regulated by elite elected officials who think they know what is good for you.
Back to gas prices. This cap and trade bill that passed the house of retards on Friday is the biggest boondoggle that will make energy soar through the roof. How many of you contacted your representative and senators to let them know that you think it is wrong and benefits no one you know? Or is it easier to just b!tch about it and do nothing? Are you ready to do like the Iranian public, over the vote, and march in the streets or go to DC and march on the street in front of the White House and Capital buildings? If you're complaining and not taking action, you're part of the problem.

Yeah, the cap and trade bill is garbage. Along with it are the proposed energy and health care bills. Obama promised transparency in all proposed legislation and that all proposals would be published on the internet for at least five days prior to any votes being cast. Yet, his energy and cap and trade bills were posted less than 24 hours before being jammed through.
Get ready America....this is really going to suck. Already he's spent 1 TRILLION dollars in a wasted "stimulus package" that has done absolutely NOTHING for us. (For example, this stimulus was supposed to save and create jobs yet, we'll be in double digit unemployment within the next two months nationwide.) The "stimulus" was supposed to save homes and free up lending but, in reality, foreclosures are on the rise, lending has been pulled back even more and the interest rate has risen.
And drill for our own oil?
I'm with you STGSALI! I say drill for it. But, the crazies led by Pelosi, Reid and Frank will never allow it. Meanwhile, gas prices continue to creep up once again. Hey, wasn't that yet another thing Obama "promised" to control?
A little more on Obama's proposals...His energy bill is poised to raise the cost of energy for the average American by up to 40% within the next 3 years. Moreover, this proposed healthcare travesty will place us beyond the type of socialized medicine that is literally killing the folks in Canada (try waiting 20 days for something as simple as a referral to a specialist from your government mandated primary care physician). We'll all be paying huge amounts for medical care in the form of taxation yet, our access to medical care (especially quality care) will suffer enormously.
In the meantime, this administration is busying itself "extending the hand of peace and reason" to nations such as Iran which has now implemented a ban on protests (punishable by death in certain instances) related to their faulty elections.
Yeah, this whole hopey changey thing is really working out great. Morons.
