what would be the best engine in a small swamp buggy, like 30-65 hp

thats not a question that can just be answered like that.  you would need to know what axles your going to use, what size tires your going to use, what gear ratio the axles will have. then you can figure ouyt what horsepower would be needed.         30-65 horse power wouldnt turn very big tires.   usually when you  have a low horse power engine like a four cylinder, you'll have a very low gear ratio to help turn the tires...

me and my friends were thinking of building a swap buggy , so we diecided to start with the engine then what ever engine we find will be the base for tire size axels ext.

we werent planing on goin fast like 20-30 max

the best engin 4 a buggy is a v6 thats wat me and my dad r gonna put in our buggy when the 4 cycinder in it blows wich runs like a top so far.It handles tractor tires alright.

If you were able to find one the isuzu npr 4cyl turbo I had in my snap-on truck kicked a$$ and got good milage, gobbbs of torque. Not too much to do as far as computer stuff either. Almost any inline 6 has allot of torque, the jeep 4.0 kicks and you can get all kind of adapter plates for the trans.
