I use to have a Honda xr250r.  Great bike, very fast!  Nice exhaust sounds tough.  But a real freaking pain in the azz to kick start!  By the time I'd get it kicked I'd give the bike to someone else to ride cause I was wiped out.   After it's warmed up it's nothing to start.  Only one person of 3 in the family that rode it could kick it cold on the first or second try.  Had to stand on the pedals and be on solid ground or lean against a tree to get enough azz behind it to kick it.

Miss the bike though.

You mean a CR250? That's alot of power just to let you know. You may want to try a 125 first. Do you have any riding experience on a 2 wheeled 2 stroke? Powerbands kick in pretty hard.  But to answer your question, yes CR's are great bikes.  -Mark

she said Xr not Cr, there's a big differance. an Xr 250 is a good reliable bike with a decent amount of power. it shouldn't be too too hard of a kick start, i kick a 426 though.

Honda are great bikes. Consider the crf 230 its got electric start. As long as the bike starts on the first few kicks go for it.
