First things first the clutch side is on the side of your rear brake foot lever. It's the round looking plate. It is a wet clutch. Meaning you have to drain the oil. And drain the radiator if the water pump is attached to the clutch cover.
Once oil is drained unscrew the clutch cable(sits on top of clutch cover). Then disassemble the rear brake lever if it is front of the clover. Then unbolt all the screws around the clutch cover. There will be between 6-12 bolts usually. Once that's done pry the cover off. May stick the case. Don't use a screw driver as you may gouge(sp?) the surface.
Once off there will be about 6 bolts that go through springs. Put the quad in gear to help prevent the clutch from spinning. Once loose pull the whole basket off. You'll notice that there is both clutch plates and friction plates that go in sequence.
Make sure they go back in the same way. If not, clutchy won't worky.
When putting the plates back in, lightly put a thin layer of oil on them. Then once all in the clutch basket put the basket back on and put the springs and screws back on. Make sure everything is tight and then put the clutch cover back on.
Put the fluids back in. Adjust the clutch cable then fire it up. Make additional adjustments as necessary. Sorry for the long post. This is how I change my clutches on both of my quads. Should be very similiar to the new quads. Hope this helps. -Mark
