damn Grizz, I am the Nextel guy, and the new name is Sprintel. Grizz is 100% correct both company have a lot to gain. Nextel will move from the 800 mhz Frequency to the new unused 1.9 GHz Frequency by the end to the year. also Nextel is using 6 to 1 technology that start this year, but only the i860 user are on it. all other phone are on the old 3 to 1 old system. what the different less drop calls and less bongs.

I have a Nextel partner meet in Orlando feb 16 to 18. And let you know whats up. DC 158*285*833

Sprint Nextel Merger: "Nextel Promise" Customer Letter; New i.n.c Resource Created A letter is being sent to all customers January 24 (except National and Alliance accounts) to address some of the questions customers may have regarding the proposed Sprint Nextel merger. To assure them that there is no better time to stay with and/or buy Nextel, the letter describes the "Nextel Promise:"
     *      "Your current Nextel phone, and any of the new, technologically advanced phones that we introduce this year, will continue to operate on our network for years to come. That means you can upgrade or add phones to your account with confidence.
     *      We will honor the terms of your Subscriber Agreement after Nextel and Sprint merge, and we will continue to offer a range of competitive voice and data plans for a variety of needs and budgets.
     *      Our unparalleled Direct Connect® walkie-talkie network will continue to expand, enabling our customers to connect coast-to-coast and country-to-country. Instantly."
Additionally, resources for Sales Reps/ARs are available on a NEW Sprint Nextel Merger Talking Points page <http://indirect.nextel.com/secured_site/jsp/i_merger.jsp> on i.n.c, featuring a copy of the customer letter, a comprehensive FAQ and collateral that can be shared with customers. A hard copy of the collateral describing the Nextel Promise is being sent to all ARs in early February

check your phone to see if you are on the new 6 to 1 system. you must have a new phone (205 305 315 325 530 710 730 830 860) hit #*#321#*# you sould be in a screen that say primary intrcnct. hit ok, then you we see n6:1 int (on or off). if it off, hit on. if it doesnt change you have a software problem.

The new iden system has more lines, less drop calls. old system was 3 to 1. one line is used for data on both system. 6 to 1 system give you 5 lines for calls. each lines hold millions of call at once. Florida is the only state to have it.
