well i got the kfx 700 to roll over the other day,,,
and now it seems when i turn the base of the handle bar clamp is hitting the plastic...
i removed all plastic and the loop on the frame where the clamp that holds the steering shaft maybe bent,, or the frame whole loop Huh???the shaft looks good also,,,it is minor because i can not see where it is bent....

Is there anyone that works on frames?Huh?? that can help HuhHuh

Are you sure the stem isn't bent? I would take it out and check it first.

you most likely bent your steering stem. Take the stem off and look at it. Highly doubt its your frame. My stem is tweeked and does that too.

i put a straight edge on it and it looks straight,, but at the top at the knuckle that could be bent Huh   i will take the stem out and look a little more closer....

You guys might be right because i went out and i just cant see anywhere that the frame is bent..

Thanks

i took the steering shaft out and the shaft does not look bent,, but at the neck, it does look tweaked toward what would be the back of the bike...

But also where the upper mount for the steering stem is,,, the shaft does not go threw the hole perfectly aligned and on the shaft there is paint missing from it not going threw the mount like it is rubbing on the back side,, is this normal

dont quite understand where the paint is missing from. Do you have pictures of the stem? The stem itself may not be bent but the bracket for the bar clams may be bent.

I put a straight edge next to the loop, is it suppose to have a little bend or should it be straight,, becasuse where  the red line is there is a bend in the frame not the bracket

and here is the shaft look at the tilt of the whole neck and where the bars mount
and the paint missing a couple inches from the neck.. i drove it a whole day after rolling it
this is the right side

and here is the left

and this is the left side of the bike

it does not look bad but i want to get it as close to OE as posible,,, just dont know what one looks like when they are not broken...

try to find some points on each side of the frame where you can measure to see if it might be bent were the stem mounts. My friend had his Z400 bend were the stem mounts.

i have had this problem more than once, i have a metal fab shop and i have had to fix this on more than one bike, the upper stem mout has been pushed back. it is very hard to see, the last on i did, i had to use a special hydraulic tool called a porta power and straighten it then weld in gusssets to hold it. if your close to miami bring it by and ill help you fix it.
