Hey guys i recently got a, honda xr650l dual sport( 100% stock & quiet) bike, ive been having a blast on it,i just ride off the street in2 the trails,no hassle of parking my truck/trailer/unloading, getting tickets, towed or breaking in2 my truck. and what i love the most is,even if there are ,no trespassing signs or towaway signs,i quickly hop from the street in2 the woods with the stock exhaust no 1 knows im even in there..i feel like a stealth rider hahaha..do u think atv rider will eventualy switch over to dual sport bikes?? it might the only way 2 ride in the future..what do u all think?

Take over ATVing? No... Become more popular? Yes

Dual Sport Bikes are nothing new. They've been around longer than 3 wheelers. With the options they have today, racing, advertisement,  they are getting more press than ever. Add the running out of places to ride ATVs... Yes, there is a growing market but not the only way to ride.

Maybe the only way to ride in Florida..? Hmmm... Evil

yes ur right ,i remember my 1st dualsport or as we called them in the 70's & 80's ( enduros)was a 1981 honda xl500s,which was a beast  back in 81..i can certainly see dualsport bikes getting really popular allover.ive riden my xr650l into everglades national park & have riden a  trails, were no 1 can ever go with any atv & no 1 saw a thing( i did it 4 the hell of it 2 get away with it),,, a few things i do to be more stealthy,i put a switch behind my headlite were i cut the front lite when i enter the trails,it makes my bike less visiable(u can also remove the lite fuse),i also remove the license plate & put it in my backpack & i always wear a fullface helmet w/tinted shield, for 2 reasons more protection & cops cant see whos riding the bike.a cop buddy of mine  gave me that idea,he says he has chased crotch rockets & then he find the bike abandoned 15min, later & they cant pin it on anybody cause they couldnt see who was driving it.he said when he traces it back 2 the license plate the owner says it was stolen..since ive been riding my dualsport,i havnt even bothered riding my 4wheelers,im actualy thinking of selling them.

They are also not for everyone. They are missing a few things. One is two more tires. The other is an automatic. There is a high percentage of ATV and UTV riders that can't use a clutch with gears and a good percentage that couldn't ride two wheels on a road let alone off road.

You saw the same thing with jet skis. When I started riding skis the only thing out was the stand-up skis and that wetbike that honda had. They weren't the easiest thing to ride for everyone. Then Yamaha came out with their waverunner. They could hold more weight, you sit down, easier to balance, and can hold more than one person. Now everybody makes them and the stand-up ski isn't that popular... The same thing with 4-wheelers. They used to be mostly small sport bikes.  Now the more popular recreational bikes seem to be big, automatic UTVs.

I've owned a dualsport for about five years. Great money saver and I can ride WMA's. Not the best riding, but legal and the scenery is nice.

1 agree with u (YFZ122) 100%...they are money savers, i paid for my 2012 xr650l.$6grand out the door(0-MILES).it gets around 55/60MGP,its a torque monster, will wheelie like nothing & i have gotten up to  almost 110mph..its a street legal dirtbike basicaly.i have go intoe a state park, pulled over on the side of the road & done a lil fishing & then riden some trails. With a dualsport u have alot more freedom & less risks with cops.
