Can anyone direct me to sand pits with clay bottoms in the ocala area? Some one told me there is one around rodman dam.

is it off road 88 and can I park near the dam?

If you are coming from the south, 88 intersects with 77 and then continues on north, but it is difficult to drive through there- very soft sand. Better to go up 19 and across the dam. Park right at the sand pit. You'll see other vehicles parked there.
