i got f'd good at maaco

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

first i took my jetta in for a paint job cuz it got 220k on it and it was faded so bad it was gonna rust..so for 700 bucks at least it got paint on it right...well chit..it turned out pretty good..specially for 700 bucks

so the wifes 4runners in the same boat..less mileage but fl had ruined the paint. had some other stuff done so it cost 1300$. had to remove fender flares and some other crap.

so i go to pick it up and instead of forest green its so dark green its almost black..most people think its black now...i get there and it really looked pretty good but real dusty. cuz we didnt pick it up for 2 days after it was detailed.

i figure body shop dust itll wash off. i take it opme and wash it a day later

it dont wash off cuz its overspray...maaco says it didnt happn there and tuff chit for us. they aint gonna do nothin for us. so i get thru arguing with the shop manager and call corporate. a day later they call me and tell me its a franchise and i gotta deal with the shop...they offered me 200$ to detail it at thier shop..which i aint doin..they f'd me once already.

so i post it up on facebook and i get nothing but a one time attempt to call that i missed cuz i was busy workin on a trlr.

so the truck is now essentially balck..which they dont give a chit about..and its got a ton of overspray on it which they deny any part off.

so the moral of the story is fuk maaco before they fuk you...even at what they charge if the screw ya yer done...they wont do anything to make ya happy

Working part time at a family run body shop I do not know how Macco can paint cars for the price they do.  The paint job is only as good as the prep work and that takes time.  If they do not prep it correctly it may look good at first but beware its not going to stay that way.   Good luck maybe a good detail shop can wet sand it at 2000-3000 grit and then buff it out.

Where are you located?  I have a body shop in Naples I would be glad to look at it for you and help you out.  Patches is 100% right.  My paint jobs START at $3000 (compact) just to give you an idea

Depending on what the overspray is , it might be real easy to get off.  I know it's the point but if u need help just let me know.  We'll figure out what overspray it is then help u out. I can tell u if it's primer u might be screwed.  In some cases we have had it where buildings got painted and covered cars and insurance took care of it. Maybe call maco and tell them an insurance is involved now so they will contact u LOL

I'd have been ripping into thos douchebags... Same thing with this car wash on 4th street that had some youngbuck kid wrench my friggen antenna off my Mustang and with no rag or anything. It not only scraped the paint up on the antenna but they broke it from the threads so now it's just hanging out in there ready to either get pulled off by anyone who tries or some strong wind. They told me they would pay for it and then the manager about the guy who said they would handle it comes out and says they will pay half. CRAZY!

What color is the overspray? Is it the same color or a different color all the way? Where is it located? I'd have seriously made a huge deal about it and said that I left it for two days and any paint on it came from one source and one source only. You clearly didn't get two paint jobs from two places...

There is alot of different types of overspray. Depending on the grade of clay bar it will take most overspray off. I'm not sure which brand paint maco uses but there are some sealers, primers, or self etching primers that may not come off with a clay bar. Take it to any local reputable body shop in your area they should be able to determine what it is and how to take it off. I know I do it all the time for my customers.
