If you are riding in pure sand all the time, go with a paddle. If it's mixed with roots on a trail, try a ITP hole shot style pattern or Maxxis Razr. They both work good. I remember the stock Dunlop that some ATV manufacturers use a tire that looks like this:

It hooked up better going straight, but slid more in the turns. That's why I liked the Razr tire better. It was more predictable in any direction because of the X pattern.

I would recommend a razr II or razr tire. The razr II is a heavier tire with more meat in the tread for a time when you come across nice roots and maybe a sticky mud situation. The original razr tire is a lighter tire great for a trail rider who doesnt need an aggressive tread. I have a pair of holeshot XC on my YFZ right now, running around 3.5psi +/- .5psi and it seems to be alright, but it doesnt have the aggressivness of a Maxxis Razr tire.

Current setup:
Maxxis Razr II front tire, I believe is a 21"(3.5-4.0psi single beadlock)
ITP Holeshot XC I believe its a 20" (3.5psi on single beadlock)

DWT Goldspeeds cheaper than holeshots and hook up way better in all conditions.
