Hello All. With the recent rain I was wondering if any has been by nw 41 st and if it was bad. I am sure there has to be parts under water. I have a 4x4 so not a big deal. But my buddy doesnt. On a side note any cops giving problems out there? I know people have been riding on the streets...

Yeah, really. lol.  Hey, let's race our sport quad down the street across from a prison yeah man let's do it!!!  But yeah, FPL apparently was having issues with dust and dirt getting kicked into the transformers etc and causing problems.

funny thing is there is a legal drag strip that people can go to and race every friday & sat night. Im sure if you talked to the owners out there they would work with the quad guys that drag race and do quads during the day when the place is not being used. I have spoke with people who do race and they have mentioned that they need ashalt that does not grip too much so they can spin at the launch. So start the track 50-100 feet behind the regular drag strip and walah!!!

Another spot shut down.

Don't go to 41'st anymore...not even worth it, thats saying if the cops and/or FWC don't kick you out or try to cite you for trespassing first.

There is a gate up on the FPL side.

On the other entrances and where the concrete pad is that everyone has bonfires at is completely filled in.  They made it so you can't get through.

These are the same dregs of society that got the holeylands shut down, pretty soon there will be no place to ride in south fla, other than abandoned golf courses.

Cut more taxes so there's not enough to pay for police and you can trespass anywhere you'd like.

Every place gets ruined...one of our other spots is on the way to being closed down from people shooting there...FWC isn't too happy about that either

Yep ,
That location was quiet for decades and never had a problem there. I used to put in my airboat behind the substation and run parrallel with the power lines , never had a problem but the truth is no location can handle the volume of traffic and not expect trouble.

What is upsetting is the ignorance with regards to the FPL site. During dry conditions ,dust and errosion around the perimiter of that site was too much. Dust can also wreck havoc with electrical systems and lead to short circuits, reduced electrical efficiency due dust deposits and power failures.  Like very heavy / dense smoke the likes of a forrest fire , severe dust does affect certain power components , accelerated oxidation is another side affect.
So ..FPL has very valid concerns.

In all fairness with regards to law enforcement clamping down out there and lets not cast all blame in one direction. Even though irressponsible ATV'rs are a problem out there lets not fail to mention the criminals that use remote locations to dump trash , tires ,roofing materials , stolen vehicles , aircraft parts and  toxic chemicals.
Last but not least , you're with in a stones throw of a major south florida correctional facility and its adjacent staff homes.
In the end I hope the area was enjoyed and many good memories made because a permanent closure is inevitable.

Exactly...well said.

Or how about the f250 or f350 that is flipped over on the east side of 157? NOOOOO respect from people at all..  Trash everywhere, beer cans everywhere, high school kids were partying back there all night and shooting guns.  Just no respect

I went last sunday morning. Was there around 8am. I parked my truck and went for a ride. Really wet and almost impassiable in some areas. And yes these place will also be shut down soon. I go ride for a few hours and leave... No trash, no cans, no fires. Just ride and get out. when I was leaving around 1 the area was packed..
