It is my understanding that the Kaw. brute 750 is only 3 wheel drive when you hit the 4x4 button, the only way to get all 4 weels to turn is to back up several feet first?Huh

4x4 button puts u in 4 wheel drive, but with limited slip front end.  Using the diff lock lever locks the front differential, so the front wheels pull together.  Otherwise, its basicly a limited slip front end.
You can feel the difference if you drive on a level grassy area, and turn left and right, then pull the lever and turn left and right.  You'll find its alittle harder to turn with the lever in.  Thus a locked front differential.  Secret is --- pull the lever and hold it before you hit the mud hole or mud spot.  If you pull it after you get stuck, its too late.
Yes, if you flip switch the switch from 4x2 and 4x4 it takes a at least 1 full rotation of the wheels to switch also same back to 2x4.
