You might want to rethink how you call police officers "stupid" since 2 of them were just killed in St Pete this morning and 2 in Miami area last week all in the line of duty trying to keep citizens safe. Calling police officers "stupid" is just plain ignorant!!

maybe not all but about half are quite ignorant. The cops in today's incident rushed the situation, they knew he was armed and waiting for them. the wife even told the police that he was armed and ready for a fight.

You are certainly proof of that.
Unfortunately trx is right, a large percentage of law enforcement are goof balls that couldn't earn respect any other way in life and signed up to get a blue light, a gun and a badge. Not all are bad, I personally know a few law enforcement officers that are great guys, and the killings that just took place are a tragedy.
I know for a fact that if open carry was already legal and if Anoriginal had been strolling down the street where the shootings occurred he could have easily saved the day as he would have been carrying 2 Desert Eagle .50s and his compound bow with exploding tipped arrows.

Well there will be 2 funerals this week in St Pete for the fallen officers maybe that would be a good time to show how you feel about many police officers, just show up and picket like your friends in that church group from Kansas.

I did not bring up police officers, trx#9 did and he said
"Cops are to stupid and will be freaking out everytime they see a gun on someones side."
and
YOU
agreed with him, I just pointed out that 2 police officers died this morning serving a warrant in St Pete when they were both shot and I mentioned the fact that 2 officers were killed in Miami last week also. Lets not forget the 4 officers that got shot in side the police station in Detroit over the weekend.
BTW again, YOU Chillenthemost agreed with tr#9 when he said
"Cops are to stupid and will be freaking out everytime they see a gun on someones side."
And I as a law abiding citizen think that is a disgrace to a civilized society but having met you one time I am not surprised by your tainted views!!!

Again I am on the moral high ground on an argument on this forum. Law enforcement officers, wether they are Barn Fife
or Cobra
They show up AFTER your house has been broken into, or AFTER you have been carjacked, or AFTER the robbery or mugging has happened. Its up to YOU to defend yourself and them to write the report.

My life is great, I don't fear LEOs or feel the need to call them stupid or for that matter I don't need to check in with a PO, never been in trouble or arrested or had any dealing with LEOs other than a ticket or two. In my opinion several members that posted on this site have issues with the law because they think the cuffs were too tight or did not enjoy the cavity search as much as they thought they would, I guess the LEO had big fingers
.
I really don't care what you think because like your hero you are ethically challenged and morally bankrupt and I am neither.

The main idea with the open carry is: Yes, permit still required. You can carry either way. But whats been happening is: Cops are arresting and/or issuing citations to CCL holders, because people have gotten sneak peeks at the persons side arm and called the police on them. So its a protection really for people with CCL. #2 its a deterrent for the bad guys! My personal opinion, be very careful with your carry open. Someone might be able to snatch your gun off your side, like they would grab a woman's purse, or pick pocket it. So its important to have a very secure holster!

Personally, I like the option to be able to open carry but I totally agree that a good holster will be necessary. If a gangbanger tries to snatch your weapon, causing you to fear for your life, will that be good enough justification for shooting the dirtbag.

Ricky,
That's a sweet piece! I bet it has quite a bark when it goes off. I really love the Smiths. Feel great, look great and perform flawlessly. Combine that with the performance center work and you've certainly got a very nice weapon there.
Back on topic as well...usually I carry the larger pistols in the truck. However, when I carry "on my person" I usually carry the Kimber Ultra Carry II in a slip in pocket holster to break up the outline. It's compact, light and easy to access.

An excellent point, I had forgotten to mention also. Open carry does open the argument that you are now a target.
You'll be the first one that liberal idiot starts shootin at. And you may get some unheralded confrontations from the
crazies out there.

another possibility is that liberal idiot may not start shooting if he sees a lot of armed citizens all around him.... same goes for the purse snatchers etc.....

I already stated that I pack a weapon so why would I have a problem with you for carrying a legal weapon?
