All I have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS? I
celebrate Christmas, but because it isn't celebrated by everyone, we can no
longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings. It's not
Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how this winter
break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday? We've gone so far the other
way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended.
But it seems that no one has a problem with that.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we
are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks
on Sept. 11,
we have experienced a surge
in patriotism by the majority
of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had
barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining
about
the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is
seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost
entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there
are a few things that those
who have recently come to
our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of
America being a
multicultural community
has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As
Americans, we
have our own culture, our
own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been
developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of
men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese,
Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part
of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right
wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and
women,
on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly
documented.
It is certainly appropriate to display it
on the walls of our schools. If God
offends you, then I suggest you
consider another part of the world as
your new home, because God is part
of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or
you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move
to another part of this planet. We
are happy with our culture and have
no desire to change, and we really
don't care how you did things where
you came from. This is
OUR COUNTRY,
our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the
right to express his opinion and we
will allow you every opportunity to do so!
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag,
our pledge, our national motto, or our
way of life, I highly encourage you
take advantage of one other! great A merican freedom,
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.
It is Time for America to Speak up
If you agree -- pass this along;
if you don't agree -- delete it!

The article generally makes sense, but it has it's flaws.
First off who says our patriotism is offending anyone? No American I know. It's just more political Bullsh*t to scare the people into complying.
Why does God seem to only apply to Christians in this article??? I thought other religions had a God as well.
Just because one guy made the word God not required for the "Pledge of Allegiance" in our schools people think that you can't say it. C'mon that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. People still say the "Pledge of Allegiance" with the word God in school, even the ones that don't believe in him. They're just not required to. 1st Amendment rights.
Also every company I worked for calls it Christmas Vacation. Some calling it Winter Break to be tolerant to other cultures is fine by me. There are other religious holidays in December.

I am not going to discredit your coments entirely I strongly suggest studing American History, your views are  a misrepresentation of our country. My ancestors did not steal this land, own slaves, inter the Japanese during WW2 or anything of that nature. I refuse to be saddled with that guilt trip. What's done is done, and it is time to move forward. I LOVE this country. It sure has a lot of flaws, but it's the best thing going.  I thank God (or whatever supreme being there is) that I am lucky enough to live here. If you don't like it, work for change. I have served in two branches of the military and as soon as I complete college I will serve as an officer in a third. I am well aware of what I am fighting for and I am well aware of my ancestors and the contributions they have made. I have traced back to ancestors that fought in the war for independents as well as for the side of the confederacy. My family has fought in every war since and in-between. We fight, because we believe. We stand when others lie down. This county was stolen. Just as the rights of the South was stolen in the 1850’s. But this is today, and this is a different era. I fight for my country and what it means today. The history of the this country has taught us a great deal. By learning that history accurately it may become more clear as to why so many people feel political correctness is the answer. To me it is a plague, a retched dieses that is destroying many of the values we once held dear. But like I said before, I come from a long line of strong willed people who fight for what they believe.

Try-Z, I wish to thank you for your service and your familys service to this country. Peolple like you are why we are free enough to voice our opinions in forums such as this. My thought on the redneck bible thumper comments made are this... I fall in that catagory being born and raised in the south (FL) it is how I was raised BUT I do not go around slamming others for not having the same thought as me. The old fashioned way I was raised, my following of GOD, having manors and respect is not what is wrong with this nation. What is wrong with our country is the opposite!!!
