Wilburz, people do camp at Eureka. It not a "camping area" but I'm sure you would be fine.

Yea, the rainbows are gone. I never saw them on that end of the forest anyway.

How long is the ride and will we need a gas drop? I really don't know how far I can go on a full tank.

   Jim,

this ride will be around 50 miles. you should not need gas but what do you ride? i'll drop 10 gallons of gas in the woods at a point close to half-way into the ride.

I'll be camping at Half Moon Lake Wink

you could always camp at that spot where i moved the guys lawn chair out of the way so we could get to the trail behind his tent. it was on the ocklawaha river.

Is camp  Ida available?  If not I'd be fine w/ tracking my stuff into the forest and making camp somewhere else.  What's the general consensus on camping that weekend?  If I have to pay it will be to expensive for me to afford right now.

I was actually thinking about that place. Not much room to camp down there is there? Where was that other place we came across first? It was a big open area next to a lake?

We will be there, we will be at Elite Friday and Saturday nights. Anyone else staing there?

I would not mind staying there but they told me they had no vacancies until after that weekend. How did you get the reservation?

Is anyone camping? Where? Can you camp at the Eurika dam area?

My mistake, I called to check availability and they had some, called back and they were gone. We are now lookin for a hotel in the area, whats closer to the meeting point, palatka or ocala?

Depends on where you are coming from but Silver springs is only about 25miles away and would be convenient if youi are coming from the south.

that area is listed as prairie pond on the maps. it used to be a regular campground. its only about a 1/2 mile north of 316 and just off forest road 88.

How many people plan on showing up for this ride, I know it's still 3 weeks away but it seems like the thread is kinda slow for a ride with such a good cause!

I am going to have to cancel on this trip.  I will be doing another of the toy runs though.  Let me know when they all are so I can arrange my schedule.

i just posted in the contributing members section that the site is in some sort of summer funk. not much excitement. all i can say is better ride ocala as much as you can now before they start the trail system.

Wilburz I'll be there if you'll pay my expenses.  It's not by choice that I'm not going!  If it were up to me and the funds were available I'd be riding every weekend.  And one day in the next year I hope to be able to do just that.  Until then I have to pick and chose my rides very carefully.

I'll run out before you do. I think we'll be OK, we can fuel up at my place if we need to.
