We will be there also. ( two quads and one peewee quad & bike).

OK quads, lets have a good showing on the 20th, dust them off and lets race Drive

Does anyone know how the track is coming along? I know that area has been getting alot of rain lately. Any status on the track drag? Approve

Track looking good this week with the new drag Shawn built.  All systems go for the race.  Track crew working hard making sure the skeptics have a different view.

I am wishing every one have a safe and fun filled evening of racing. I will not be there to race, that I have other things going on. i know im going to miss some great close racing in all classes. Good luck to every one.

Ok here it is, Im not going to risk of getting hurt, that the opening round of the All Harley Drag Racing season starts next week end of the 27th and 28th at Orlando Speed World.

Call me wimp if you like, but there is alot at stake here for me.

Just want to Thank Everyone that attended Thunder Bowl Speedway yesterday. We had an SDTA Record 58 Race Entries with 13 quads. Some very intense racing in multiple classes and AMA GNC Pro Mr. Ken Coolbeth Jr. showing our experts the fastest way around the track. More later when I receive the results and have time to re group

Again.....Thanks To All

Hey jayman
track started out good......got a little rough early on in the heats and got a little better for the finals. Track drag worked great. Now we just need to work it more and earlier before race day. Should improve with every race now that we have something to drag it with that works.

Sorry you missed the race........check in with Cabana.......him and Derek raced each other very hard........ been a long time since I seen two quads race so close and intensely. Jonathan never waivered from his line, Derek was crawling up his rear tires and around lap 8, Derek spun out a little coming out of turn 2

The was alot of intense close action in quite a few classes......pee wee mc was the hit too. 10 riders and great action. I will send out a blast in a day or two.......will be a busy week getting ready for bike week.

(sorry for the misprint)

there was some realy good racing all night.
that was Jonathan and Derrick battling it out all night in open.
there were some good lap times and speeds considering how loose the track was,Coolbeth was pulling a very consistant 64 mph with a 18.2-18.5 lap,Jon and Derrick would hit 64 once and a while but were mostly around 62 but with a 17.2-17.5 laps
it was a great night,I am looking forward to the next race!

yeah. 4 stroke all the way as long as my 500 aint on the track. Cool J/K  jon took me off the line and while i was faster around the track(2 stroke) i just couldnt get around him. jon was doin some hella blocking. i had to shut out one time to keep him from pinning me against the wall. not enough traction and not enough power with that little 340. hopefully i will have my 500 running by the next race. if not then im putting nitrous on the 340. Grin top speeds were limited by traction for the higher power bikes.
there was some awsome racing! congrats goes out to johnathan harvin for his first int. class win and only the second time he has ever raced. he rode great and made a great pass near the end for the win. First Place

as the the 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke..... jon and his dad have got that 4 stroke very close to the little 340. but all thats out the window when my 500 runs again. but i dont have to tell jon that. he already knows. Brows          hope to see everyone at the next event and maybe some new people too.

thanks again to all the SDTA crew for putting on a GREAT show. Thumbs Up

Good Morning derek, cj & jayman
We do appreciate the support and the great show/race that was put on. Since the three of you are fast on the track and even faster when on the keyboard  Wink....(aren t we all). Wanted to know if anyone would like to help (I could use it) provide some commentary for the quad classes to include in my post race e mail blast. I obviously screwed it up thinking derek was johnny.  Smiley

I have help coming from the Handschins for the pee wee mc class. I heard it was a great race too. I don t always get to see each class if I have to work on my bike and as this last race was recouperating from my first attempt at riding two classes and had to work on my bike

If you are up for the task.........send me your comments to jonesyancey@tampabay.rr.com

Thanks Again

Johnny Vance was the peson that I think ended up 2nd. (I have to re check the results) Obviously after derek spun out. I am starting to get a little familiar with people in other classes...ie: pee wee, quads, etc. You quad racers all look alike to me Smiley....just kidding. I will make an effort to get around more and introduce myself. I now know Scott since I was able to talk to him at sign up and available for autographs. I have been a fan of Jonathan for quite a while. And where has that Mr. Ware guy been? Smiley

send me your e mail and I can provide some examples of writings or not. Doesn t have to be any spectactular. Who came from behind after a bad start.....who battled it out neck & neck like derek & Jonathan. Who maybe put out an unexpected great performance. Its all about just trying to get people reconized. we obviously do not do this for the money or lack there off, so it is nice to have peoples name mentioned every now and then.

Thanks for the offer and all help. It is much appreciated

CJ:
That is the exact same finishing order I have in the computer, Ward is old and starting to get Senile and he can't remember where he finished in his own race let alone the Expert Quad class.   Wink

Having the race on video to watch woudl be really cool.

Shawn,
I tried out our new bike cam at TB, got some really good video/sound of 2nd Practice, both heats and Main. Wish i would have used it on the first practice with the inaugural run of the CR500.
