How can i become a pro XC racer?
«

i race in New England and i am in the top 3 in my category (beginner, moving up to sport next season). what else should i do to get noticed by the big names? i estimate that if i keep going at my current rate of progress, i should hit the expert class in about 3 years, moving up to semi-pro 1-2 years after that.
how do i get my name out, besides winning a lot of races?

i don't know much about xc raceing, but racing is still racing.
so, winning is agood start,
but
are you winning the big races ?
when you don't win were are you finishing............top 10's ?
do the the fans like you, do you show the fans that you know they are there ?
if you are doing these things then your time should come.
good luck,

Local races are great to get experiance. But I dont really know but I think you need to run the GNCC series to get Sponsors to really notice you. You can send in resume's and like pledger said albrightmotorsports.com will be the right place to get that done. I would run as many GNCC races next season as you could, try to win the C class. and then move up classes every season if you win them. I am not a pro though, I am just a C class racer so I might be wrong though.

Your best bet would be to have really rich parents, live at home and ride every day. Race every weekend, have at least 2 bikes so that you dont wear out your race bike practicing and last dont get married or have kids.
Trust me work, a wife and 3 kids will keep you too busy to race very much.
Keep in mind too that some people are just fast and some (like Anoriginal)will never be.

The only thing keeping me from being a pro is a lack of money. That is what i tell my mom all the time and she says that when she wins the lottery she will buy me 6 full on race quads, a full time mechanic, a sweet motorcoach as well as a credit card for fuel and a credit card for parts
What a mom
If this were to happen I would be a pro, until then the SSQSA and Motoplex will just have to be stuck with me
