OK, I am at the point with my ATV where it needs some work.  The question is should I fix it for one more ride like I been doing, or  should i tear it down and fix it the right way?

When i tear it down it will go from .20 (where its at now) all the way to a 1.00 over stock piston. The head will be ported and polished, and also the cam will have a custom grind for more low end power.  Also there will be a bigger carb added to the monster and the flywheel will be lightend so the motor can wind out faster.

I been doing alot of research and found out i can take alot of stuff off the z400 and make it work on my eiger for example computer, valve springs. all stuff make it have more power and more reliable under more power added.

The bad is bike will be down for few months while doing build since wiring harness will have to be customized for new cdi box.

I want   some ideas if i should do it now, or wait for my motor fully to blow up.  Please no one say just go buy a bigbore bike.  In my eyes that be no fun, as in this custom build will cost more money and take more time, but in the end will look and be bad a**.

Thank you guys in advanced for the comments.

Id say do it. I mean why wait. Your just going to tear more crap up keeping it tied together anyway. Just competley rip it apart fix anything thats broken go over every detail and every bolt. Do your mods and after awhile you will have a pro ass ride.

do you plan on getting a new cylinder that has been designed to be cut 1.00 over stock? Thats pretty big man. Most I've seen would be .80 over.

If you plan on using your cylinder and having it bored/honed out.. I would be EXTREMELY careful on how you ride it. It will be fast, but a matter of time before that piston sleeve cracks near the bottom end. And that would be a HUGE problem when that happens.

Just giving some food for thought, if that is your plan.

I own everything from 2" trash pumps to large excavators, 50cc Suzuki ATV to a CanAm 800 and the one thing I can absolutely, positively tell you, the most expensive thing you can do is to wait until it breaks.  Fix it now.

Lol,  I no keeter  it is peak riding time now, and i really dont wanna miss out.  I am burning/leaking oil really bad.  (about 5 quarts  weekend at l cross)  Yes i am havein cylinder re sleeved but the cylinder it self will be bored to fit the bigger sleeve in it. after new sleeve is put it i would be able to go 1.60 over stock.

So i guess i am gonna tear it down and  make it a bad azz mud bike.  dont worry there will be pleanty of pics and if u wanna build you bike after  the way mine is i be more than happy to help you all out.

Just FYI  my bike is suzuki eiger 05 and they do not make cams, bigger pistions besides .40 0ver  so this will be 100% cutom build    who knows if i wanna go crazzy i can take h3 throtle body and make her fuel injected.
