I called to get insurance on my ride and found out that it was well under $300.00 a YEAR for it Grin. Plus it covers theft, collision and liabilty! I figure $218.00 a year for my pride and joy is better than $6000.00. I got mine insured through State Farm in Davie. Just thought you should now!!

We pay $1100/year for 2 Suzuki Vinson 500's, but we have full coverage with very high coverages.

that is progressive, but we have their highest policies and also coverages for up to like $10,000 in other equipment on the bike(winches, boxes, mods, etc.) and also, im only 21 so that doesnt help much

Your right I'm sure allot has to do with age,but you should think about changing some of your coverage, hell how in the world could you have $10,000 in mods and if you did they would never pay you if something happened, and if you do you better have replacement and all of the receipts because you are going to have one tough battle trying to get them to pay.
Just my opinion but you could buy a ton of mods for what you are paying for coverage  Jerry

I must be doing something wrong, because my quote from progressive and some other company for the yfz and sportrax 250 was around $1,600.  I really want insurance, but i don't want to pay more than a couple hundred per year.  no way i'm paying what i was quoted.

Strange. I was quoted like $200 something a year from Progressive. I am fixing to start looking again, because my bike is getting closer to being finished. The covereage include all of the modifications and everything  Grin I am also 21.... not sure why all the different quotes.

Driving history is perfect.  Nothing on either record.  I'll have to look at the coverages, I think I maxed out on all the coverages.  What coverages should I get?  Any insurance agents online here that want to give me a quote?

We I checked Progressive they only had GAP insurance and it was about $75 a year.

iM AN INSURANCE AGENT FOR PROG, BUT CANT GIVE YOU A QUOTE AS IT IS A CONFLICT OF INTESTEST. THE COVERAGES MIGHT BE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

SKY,  THIS IS WHY NO 2 RATES ARE THE SAME.
THIS IS JUST SOME OF THEM..

AGE
MARRIED?
ZIP CODE
SEX
COVERAGES
VALUE
CREDIT SCORE
DRIVING HISTORY
CC SIZE
STYLE OF BIKE
DISCOUNTS.... ITS BETTER TO INSURE ALL YOUR BIKES ON ONE POLICY!

IM SURE THERE IS MORE, THIS IS JUST OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD...

O.k., just re-ran a quote.  ages 38 and 33, perfect driving record, $10k Bodily injury/ $20k/accident, $10K property damage, $250 deductible.  Cost is $733 per year.  better than the last time i ran it, but i dropped the coverages significantly from the last quote.

still seems crazy to me.

I'm not sure why the quote is different from the last time.. even though I used the same information (weird). Anyway, it came out to be $299.00 a year. That included $10,000 property damage, $20,000 accident, $10,000 Injury, Theft ($250 deductible), $5,000 custom parts/equipment coverage (May need to up that though, lol).

THAT WOULD BE WEIRD, BUT IF EVERYTHING WAS THE SAME AND THERE WAS NO RATE REVISION (CHANGE IN RATES) FROMT THE FIRST TIME YOU DID A QUOTE AND THE SECOND TIME. THEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME..

I expected the rate to change.  I'm comparing to a quote I ran 4 or 5 months ago, plus this time I reduced my coverages.  I just find it odd that most people seem to be paying a couple hundred per year, and my quote was significantly higher.  While $733 is a lot cheaper than buying new quads if stolen, still a lot of money.  My zip is 33325

Im guessing thats why, southern florida has the hightest rates in the state!

Miami being number 1 in the state for all companys.
generaly speaking, the further south you go (in fl) the higher rates.
compare it to Bronx, Ny and  Inthesticks, OH.

Now you MAY be thinking "well ill use a different zip and get a lower rate".
Alot of people do this and when they need to file a claim.
And the Insurance company finds out they used a differnt zip (and they will, they look for this) they will deny the claim, cancel your policy, and keep all the money you have paid in.. this is called rate jumping, and its insurance fraud.....  its happens to alot of people....

Keep checking around rates very greatly from company to company...

Wow I am really surprised at what some of you all are writing. Shocked Is it sport bikes? Are they monsters? I have a Kodiak 2003 400 and a 2005 Bruin 350 both 4 wheel drive. The Kodiak was 218 the bruin came out a little higher for obvious reasons. Are yall insuring multiple bikes? What about your current provider can they give you a quote? And technically I live in Hollywood 33021.
