i was hesitant to spend the $70 to list my 2 4 wheelers in the cycle trader. finally did it, and as i figured, wasted my money. i didnt even get 1 call.  anyone selling a bike...... has it sold?  hate to give em away, but damn i guess that is probably the only hope of getting em out of the garage

I recently traded a 89 blaster for a 1990 5.0 convertable with ALOT of extras, seems trades are a bit easier

I couldnt have sold that blaster for $800 tops anywhere, but I can tur around and sell the 5.0 if I wanted to for a few grand.

Ive done trades in the past like this just to turn around and sell the trade to make my money.

When I was selling my quad I had the same thing happen.  I finally went to craigs list and posted for free and finally sold it.  I took several weeks but at least it is free.

Good luck

I listed my Swamp Buggy on Ebay and CraigsList. I was asking $2000. The Ebay auction didn't even come close and the only calls I got from CraigsList was for trades.... and mostly junk trucks or old junk ATVs. I finally got the call where the guy wanted to trade for an airboat straight up, which was good because thats what I was selling the Buggy for. I didn't get a single call offering money from CraigsList and I posted the sh*t out of it.

SykoLincoln is right, Its a whole lot easier and quicker to trade.... and The Cycle Trader is a huge waste of money.

The market is hard right now also... no one having money probley also contributes to the fact of no one calling.

Ive been very successful selling on craigslist. Detailed pics and descriptions are a must.... 4 ATVs, 2 trailers, and 1 truck all sold within 2 to 12 days of first listings. Also bought just as many items as Ive sold there. The right buyers out there you just gotta find them  Wink

Big Daddy,

People are crazy to sell guns or ammo from there "personal" collection..

Now if you are buying low, with intention to resell, and sell high.. Why not..

I have flipped quite a few items and came out 300% + ahead..

I still got a bunch of that ammo from my job, but nothing in "low recoil" 12 ga.. Let me know how that magnum stuff went..

I also listed my quad for sale in cycle trader-no calls.  On this forum-some trades offered and 1 cash deal that fell thru and also put it on craigslist-a couple inquiries.  I work in service at a Ford dealership and sales on used and new trucks are way down. The only thing I think is selling at this time is sex, guns, drugs and alcohol.  It sucks.

Ricky is right, guns are going like hot cakes! I've been cleaning up lately selling doubles and triples of things I've purchased in the past to re-sell later.

It's probably one of the few markets thats a true "seller's market" .

I just sold my 07 YFZ on Ebay.  It took 8 hours.  Instead of doing the auction, I did the "buy it now" with "best offer" option.  I got $5200 for it.
