My brother was at the Seminole MX this last weekend and they announced it was official they are opening 3500 acres of riding.  Has anybody heard anything about this?

No, but that would be awesome! I remember when they used to have a 4 mile loop in the woods. I was rough but good XC practice.

Here is my e-mail   Grin

To who it may concern,
Myself and many others have heard rumors about a place to "trail" ride there at the Seminole MX.  I would love to help on spreading the word to help promote any events you could be having in the near future.  Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.  If I have e-mailed the wrong people for this information, please don't hesitate to send me in the right direction.  I do not want to start rumors or lies, thats why I thought I would ask the best way I knew.  I would like to help post on our local forums dates and info to help promote your events.  Thanks for your time!!

Brad H.

His responce:

you have the right place will post info when every thing is ready in about two months

My responce:

That is great news thank you!  I am sure it will be successful.  I know everyone will be excited!

Your so cool.  Bow

This is good news that this initiative has gained traction and began to move.  I was talking to my ATV dealer a couple of months ago and he had mentioned this.

On another note if this land (3500 acres) is on the Seminole reservation I am wondering what, if any jurisdiction SFWMD has on an Indian reservation.  Could be a plus... BUT I know the reservation laws are enforced heavily.  That could be a good thing too.

I'll start this rumor LOL (this is a true story though) My brother was giving the lady his e-mail address for "sign in" and in his e-mail is "mudwieser" she said she liked it and asked if her heard about the new park.  Sooooo to me that makes me think there is going to be mud.  And at 3500 acres there should be every kinda riding you could enjoy.  Evil

3500 acres is a nice day riding area.Big enough not to get bored if its done right. I hope it works out. Being Injian land I doubt they have to follow any of the rules that state bureaucrats (SFWMD) and the local municipalities  have too.

In some cases, Indian reservations have much stricter laws. I.R.s' are like a foreign country.

I am sure that the rules and policies put in place will reflect the quality of the facility. Seminole is top of the line, high quality for your money,NO DOUBT!!!  It would be great to help if we could and we should as riders.  This place deserves our thanks and gratitude!!!   They have always been one of the best if not the best tracks in florida!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope its actual trails to ride around in and not sit around a mud hole and watch people drink and get stupid, that is not real trail riding to me, we already have plenty of places like this. I personally think that this is what the public fears becasue that is all we have right now and people don't want it near there neighborhoods or areas, lots of trucks very loud, drinking and craziness(not that I don't enjoy this but) no wonder there is no one that wants to help us get riding areas, hopefully this will be a little bit of a change from your typical mudhole/c & r area not bashing c&r and places like it but that's not riding, if you have been to Tenn. or West Virginia that is what I could only dream of in FL. Hopefully it happens either way!

Well C&R is closed.

I can assure you there will be 0 drinking.  They won't tolerate it.

And there will most likely be a rule that involves helmets and registered bikes.  They need to keep scum out, and with a few simple rules, they can.  I can't immagine trucks being allowed.

No way when did it close?? what happened?? I am glad there wont be any drinking aloud that is a good thing keeps it safer and for those that do have families might actually be able to enjoy there time there with them. I definitely agree need to keep the scum out!! there is so many goood people in our sport but I have seen so many bad, It has changed so much since I started riding 15 years ago!  everything is gone and no were at all to ride in my area becasue of dirt bags, vacant land that will never be touched by developers but never again by riders either, it would be nice to have a nicer more respectfull enviroment to ride in.

The only thing I can see about a downside will be the lack of shade out there. Its mostly sugar cane fields. But it is awesome news and if I am ever down that way again, I will ride it.

SFWMD shut them down because of a miscompliance with the land owner.  Turned out to basically be the landowners fault.  They did not comply with the laws of operation on wetlands.

It sucks...I liked that place but it was goign downhill for a while.

I hope L-Cross isn't next, IIRC they aren't on wetlands
