We get a lot of rain over here but not the hurricanes. Fay gave us 13 inches according to local sources.
Looks like FL dodged the big bullet on Hanna, but still has to worry about Ike, huh?! They're pointing him right at the Keys scheduled to arrive early next week, but predicting only Cat 2............... but it also probably means he'll end up moving across the Gulf and into New Orleans.

The best case scenario is it turn North and go out to sea. Its sad but true, everyone hopes it will miss them and go destroy someone/somewhere else.
I really feel for the people in New Orleans and the Gulf. I do not wish this on them.

Man, I hope that thing avoids us. Ike, I mean. They're already comparing it to Andrew. Looks like I'll be headed to the Keys this week to board up the house and bring the boat home. Unreal!

Very true. I think I'll go this Sunday morning and come back that evening or early Monday.

everyone's doing the same thing Matt. I suggest heading down soon, or middle of the night. I'm supposed to help a friend pull his trailer out of there, and I'm so not looking forward to the traffic

Yeah, traffic is going to be really really bad. I am thinking driving home at night on Sunday might be a better idea.
If you leave, where are you going?

the lagmans are down at mm 50. if we're there at the same time, and you need any help, I'm more than willing to lend a hand, let me know.
I'm not sure if we're going. I spoke with them 2 days ago and he said he needed my truck to haul his trailer out, but I haven't heard back (as expected). If I don't hear from him soon, he's going to be out of luck.
what mile marker are you at?
as an aside, my association is putting together a cerp course, wish it was before the hurricane rather than after.

I saw that also. Like VForceDave said it will hit those poor people in the gulf again. Plus welcome back over $4.00 a gallon gas again.

We are right at mm24 on Little Torch, or at least that's where you turn off 1 to get to our place.
If I go, I will call you.
BTW, no deal with the Lagmans. But, I really appreciate your help on putting me in touch with them.

Set up a few zillion Blue Blowers on the beach and see how that works.
