I can't vote for Obama simply because none of his plans make any sense and for the most part, are unworkable.
I wasn't a McCain fan either. However, for President, there really is no comparison. Obama isn't the man for the job.
Here's a good reason to vote for McCain over Obama. Obama's economic policy plans. These are facts, not opinions and you can even look them up on Obama's own website.
Obama proposes spending billions (that we don't' have) on infrastructure rehab ($60 billion) and green energy($210 billion). While this makes great sense in the long run, we simply can't afford it. When asked about this fact, Obama has no answer and quickly changes the subject.
Obama wants to do all that he can to strengthen America's unions so that they can "lift up America's middle class once again". Well, every economist agrees that Unions are quickly pricing themselves out of existence. Look at the layoffs all of the automakers implemented over the recent past because with Unions, you get less productivity at a higher price. Again, this simply doesn't make sense.
Obama wants to further subsidize college education. However, government subsidies only increase tuition over the long run. So, while it sounds great to would be voters to tell them he'll get the government to pay for college educations, it has a negative impact on cost over the long run.
Obama's tax plan within his economic policies are equally unbelievable. Granted, they sound GREAT to would be voters who don't understand the consequences. First, he says he wants to almost double the earned income tax credit and triple it for minimum wage earners. Also, he wants to establish a mortgage interest tax credit over and above that in place already. Yet, at the same time, these tax credits combined with the $65 billion expansion of health insurance and the plans discussed above come out to over $800 billion ($800,000,000,000.00)in cost to the tax payers. The higher proposed taxes on the rich (which he openly advocates despite the fact they already pay more than 85% of the tax in the US) can't cover this spending. So....guess who gets to pick up the tab? The already suffering and disappearing middle class. Again, this simply doesn't make economic sense.
Speaking of taxes, The Wall Street Journal took a hard look at Obama’s tax plan. They figure (as do countless other economists) that Obama's tax plan will mean a 52% income/payroll tax, 28% capital gains tax, 40% dividend tax, 40% personal income tax and a whopping 55% estate tax. If that doesn't make you sick, you need to take your pulse to see if you're not already dead.
You cannot expect to use government to drive the economy at the cost of free markets and capital. It doesn't work. History shows us on countless levels that this is a bad idea. Just look at your European nations that are growing. All of them are supporting capital, not taxing it to death. Again, this isn't opinion, it's cold hard fact available to anyone.
Confucius say's, If you take substract the 10 billion were spending in Iraq every month those numbers will look much better.
You are the king of the big dummies. I'm talking about ending the war will save us 10 billion a month.
i agree im not sure who was president during the pearl harbor deal but we need him back in office we shoulda done the same thing with iraq and afghanistan etc...we shoulda lit the mother#%@s up

Here is another thing I don't really get... First I ask, how many go to Church? How many of you went to that same Church for 20 years, w/the same same Pastor, same Preacher, same Priest? How many of you had that same Pastor, that not only, you been going to him for 20 years, listening to him preach, he baptises your children, he stands for you when you are married.... You have been listening to this man for 20 years, and this what he preaches....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAYe7MT5BxM
Trust me! If I walked into a Church, and there was some man preaching hate the black man, hate, hate, hate, hate... I would get up, and walk my butt right out of that Church. And in no way would I stay in that Church for 20 years, allow that man to marry me, allow that man to Baptise my kids, unless I believe in what he had to say...... But that just might be me....

yeah, you're right. America's infrastructure definitely doesn't need any work. Just ask any affected loved one in the Bridge that crumbled during rush hr. traffic in Minnesota.

I also like being detoured every few months for failed water mains that have been in need of updating for years. That really does make sense now that I think about it. This would create way too many jobs for US construction workers to get done and paid for. I would really hate for a president to spend money on his own country. Anoriginal please list any drugs or medications you might be on because I would like to stay away from them so I do not corrupt any logical thought!! The economy sucks, construction co.'s are running out of work-construction workers are losing jobs in the US and we do not want to re-structure the infrastructure of America because it costs too much??!!? Now if that isn't the dumbest thing I have heard all week maybe year. Wake the F up America-we need a new policy. Or I guess our construction workers can go overseas to work in a hostile enviroment to make a hella lot of money but risking their lives to do so. Send a briefcase for the money and a bag for the bodies of the father's and mother's that had no other choice than someone waving money in their face to re-establish a country we just got finished invading!!
Of course this is coming from a blue collar, white male, struggling to stay in lower to mid range of the middle class-so forgive me for being swayed from the radical right wing point of view-because that sux too!!

and on top of that McSame changes his political stand point and figured out that the country does need change. Didn't Obama start that a few months back when debating against Hillary? Jumping on a band wagon a little too late I would say! He also is now stating he is not serving for the repubs. or dems.-he wants to serve for the people. Wow, how things have changed to obtain the undecided and Clinton votes!! Whatever it takes I suppose.
McCain had his oppurtunity in the 2000 race against Bush, but loss due to questionable politics from Karl Rove, Bush's campaign mgr at the time. Bringing up the illegitimate black child McCain is a father to. Thus, ultimately causing McCain to lose in a few states-one of those being a heated race in SC to Bush. Good job repubs.-should've gone after a new candidate-you had a very long eight years to find a younger, new fresh model to represent your deluded thoughts. Let me clue you in, it's not Palin. That is the only thing people are getting excited about on that card, and unfortunately that excitement has blood rushing to the wrong head.

Okay, so it's clear you're angry. Now, put aside the clouded thought for a minute and read the following very very carefully and then attempt to answer the question. Ready? Here it comes.
All of the construction Obama proposes is wonderful when it comes to new jobs, etc. However, (and here's the question for you) how will we pay for it?
That's it. Simple. Just one question. Answer it. Obama sure can't.

China, isn't that the answer? Just borrow more money from China.
I'm sure you're going to hate the real answer, but it is taxes. There are taxes that need to be dropped and new ones implemented. It's inevitable. A country can not rely soley on the gov't to pull us out, it's also up to to the citizens.

Um, did you actually read what I wrote and even attempt to confirm my figures? Never mind, that was a dumb question on my part...of course you didn't.
Anyway, can you stand more tax? I sure can't. Look at the math. It doesn't work. Oh, and those contracts you're so concerned with, who do you think will get them? Mainstream local contractors? No way. Affirmative action, bid incentives and political correctness will ensure that minority contractors (not the most qualified or lowest bidding) will get the contracts.
If you're a tax paying citizen who doesn't live off of any government hand out, it is the equivolent of cutting your own throat to vote for Obama.
Finally, re-read your quote:

how are we paying billions a month for the war?-answer it, come on. And we can't spend money to re-build the United States of America. That's real scary.
If a majority of the infrastructure of America fails so does the country! Think about it-just a little. You have to spend money to make money. Businesses have also fallen into this false sense of hope. And that is if we ignore the problems of minor fixes that cost money to repair the problem they hopefully will go away or hell just sell the company for millions and leave the problems for the next guy. Real ideal and real ethical.

First, you try to answer the question posed to you. I know and you do to, how we're paying for the war. In addition, we all know it was and is about oil. Tell you what, I have no problem with it either.
I'm not drumming you down but, you need to really think about what you're posting and get a better grasp on basic macro economics. Your posts are not making sense.

the citizens to spend money on those enstated taxes douche-that is what I meant by the citizens obligation. Your fuzzy math figures make no point. I can make up figures all day about repub. spending and you can go back and double check them. The war, how are we paying for the war??? This money, when the war is done, can not go back into the US economy??? By the way, I haven't contradicted myself once-try again.

What am I claiming to be against?- enlighten me, oh enlightened one.
It says a lot about you if you think this war is about oil. With that comment, this uneducated (from your side) debate is over. Go listen to the right wingers on your am dial and figure out some retalliation points. As far as your comment about not making sense, the only sense I can make of that is gone and done flown over your head son. Stay in school, go back to school or shut the f up.
God Bless America!!
and please increase some taxes to go toward education so I don't waste time on garbage like this.

Okay, so now I am a douche? You know, it is a fact that when someone is outclassed in a discussion or when they are wrong and can't get out of it, they usually resort to name calling.
I especially like the stfu comment. Classy and a wonderful demonstration of intellect.
Anyway, let me slow this one down for you bit by bit so that you don't miss anything.
1. You"ve now changed gears and subjects and you're talking about the war. How are we paying for it? A GIANT defense budget. Is any infastructure in the US failing as a result thereof? Nope.
2. Fuzzy math and making up figures. Well, I hate to break this to you, but my math isn't fuzzy and my figures come from Obama's web site. So, if you think these figures are made up, you should probably write good old Barak and let him know...not me. Also, my figures are backed by just about every single economist on the face of the planet when it comes to Obama's tax plans. Want an example? Start with the single most important financial publication on earth, ie.- The Wallstreet Journal.
3. Contradictions. Hey, again, re-read your quote. You said that we can't rely on the government to pull us out. Okay, I agree with that. In fact, that's EXACTLY what I posted originally. Yet, you then seem to be all for these government funded, taxpayer driven rehab projects and act as if they will somehow "save" us. I hate to break it to you but, that IS reliance on the government to pull us out. So, yeah, you did contradict yourself.
4. You are really not making sense from an economic standpoint. You might want to get someone else to post for you or something. Again, I'm not drumming you down, I'm just saying that maybe you have a point to make but it's getting lost in your translation to text or something.
Take deep breaths and relax. You're going to stroke out with that type of anger.
P.S.
One of my Bachelor's Degrees is in Economics.
Magna Cum Laude WOOT!!!

How does the gov't get money, genius?

Oh, wait....I know this one....ummmm....
Taxes?
This is going to be humorous. So, go ahead, run with it and show some more of that stellar reasoning you've already demonstrated. I am ready for the laughs.

Okay, let me clarify. The gov't can not do it alone-back to the word solely. The McCain card claims that Obama is going to be out of control with taxes. Does that mean McCain will not propose any new taxes or increase current ones. How does a country get out of a deficit it has created without taxes and some obligation from its citizens? Going back to my statement, it was that the gov't can not do it alone-we need to contribute and not whine when a new tax idea is brought in. When words are twisted or taken out of context, I guess you can call that contradiction.

No twisting here. I quoted you direct. However, you're making good sense now and I appreciate that. This is what a discussion should be.
Anyway, McCain's economic policy isn't based on pork barrel tax generating ideas. Rather, his is based upon tax incentives in certain sectors, elimination of special interest fueled spending, and an end to heavy funded handout programs that have done nothing but created a class of people with a sense of entitlement without sacrifice. Very little increased taxation is required if you trim the fat from the budget.

Sir, (since I've been warned about name calling)
so I did re-read my quote, it stated that we can not rely
soley
on the gov't. Let's get this cleared up-never stated that I thought we could do it without gov't policies/ideas.

I say we get all the lazy people on welfare and let them do all the work to fix the infrastructure of this country. Make them earn those food stamps and those welfare checks. Also get them fixed in the hospital while they are having that child for FREE!!

uhoriginal-this is a good one for ya!!-you know wall street journal and all. ur fuzzy math suh suh suh uh uh uh ux.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121867201724238901.html?mod=opinion_main_commentaries
here is an original sumthing (sic) from the Wall Street Journal.....good try!!
In contrast, John McCain offers what would essentially be a third Bush term, with his economic speeches outlining $3.4 trillion of tax cuts over 10 years beyond what President Bush has already proposed and geared even more to high-income earners. The McCain plan would lead to deficits the likes of which we have never seen in this country. It would take money from the middle class and from future generations so that the wealthy can live better today.
Sen. Obama believes a focus on the middle class is appropriate in the wake of the first economic expansion on record where the typical family's income fell by almost $1,000. The Obama plan would cut taxes for 95% of workers and their families with a tax cut of $500 for workers or $1,000 for working couples. In addition, Sen. Obama is proposing tax cuts for low- and middle-income seniors, homeowners, the uninsured, and families sending a child to college or looking to save and accumulate wealth.
The Obama plan would dramatically simplify taxes by consolidating existing tax credits, eliminating the need for millions of senior citizens to file tax forms, and enabling as many as 40 million middle-class filers to do their own taxes in less than five minutes and not have to hire an accountant.
Sen. Obama also recognizes that small businesses are the engine of job growth in the economy. That is why he is proposing additional tax cuts, including a tax credit for small businesses that provide health care, and the elimination of capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups. The vast majority of small businesses would face lower taxes under the Obama plan than under the McCain plan. In addition, Sen. Obama supports reforming corporate taxes in a manner that would help create jobs in America and simplify the tax code by eliminating distortions and special preferences.
love ya,
me
