need computer help asap!

im taking an online class for school and i just wrote a essay saved it to my documents, well i made a new subfolder in documents, any wasy i saved it in there.   to turn it in it must be an attachment i got it attached no problem, i tried to check it to make sure it works and it wont open now? it says it has to be a .doc or a .docx of .rtf to submit?   at the end of my saved title it says .wps file  it was typed on microsoft works word processor of it helps diagnose my problem.  PLEASE HELP

Can't you open it in Word and SAVE AS > .doc or .rtf?

i had my woman come by to help me, thanks. i dont have word on my computer so she did something that worked lol

www.openoffice.org that will give you a free version of microsoft office suite including excel and powerpoint.

No need to pay that kinda money for the real thing.  Good luck!!
