You should post this question in the tech section. There are a few ATV mechanics on here that frequent that section and offer advice.

it turns over and makes a clicking sound (it might not be turning over and the started may be clicking). were gonna check the timing. thats the #1 cause of a bike not running when its rebuilt i think. one tooth and it wont start or it wont run worth a crap. were gonna check the compression and see if it has spark just for the heck of it first then we'll take the head cover off and see whats goin on.

one of 2 things could be wrong, the timing was set up wrong causing the piston to make contact with the vlaves which would make the clicking noise. or the timing chain may be broken, you could be hearing the broken chain slapping around in there. first thing to do is put your hand on the carb, or exhaust and see if it feels like its pushing exhaust out, or pulling any on the intake, if its not than the cam chain has broken, if it does than move on to the next step which would be to pull the spark plug out so that when you hit the starter the motor turns really easy, then see if you still hear the clicking, if so your valves are making contact with the piston.
now if you happen to feel the exhaust sucking, or the intake pushing air, or anything funny right off the bat than the search is over, the cam timing is just off and thats why the valves are hiting the piston and clicking.
if its clicking, it could be as simple as just a dead battery, so remember, before you do anything make sure its turning the motor over, and if it is just put your hand over the exhaust and see if it pushes any exhaust and then go from there...
