Stranger things have happened. It's still in the rumor stage but I can dream can't I? It appears that the Packers are not willing to fulfill his request to come out of retirement and play for them another year. Miami should be a intriguing option since it doesn't snow there. A one or two year contract would be plenty of time for him to help develop the young receiver core as well as Beck at quarterback. Miami has Jason Taylor that could fill a void for Green Bay which could sweeten the pot. Miami has the money to spend and Farve wants to play again. Never say Never.

at the same time, if he's only going to come back for a year or two, does he really want to start fresh with a new team? I'm a dolphin fan, it'd be great to aquire farve this season, but just doesnt seem likely.

Hasn't the Dolphins had enough has-beens and wannabes? Believe me, I don't enjoy paying $10,000/year for season tickets and watch this crappy team implode over and over but we need to develop young talent. It might hurt for another year or so but that's how championship teams are made, not by hiring used up QBs.

Not sure about used up.He had one of his most productive years last year and I may be mistaken but I thought he made the pro bowl. His record of games started is at the top of the league. Farve washed up?Not hardly. I know it's a long shot but man what a way to get the fans back in the spirit.

well said....Favre is hardly washed up. He had one of his most productive seasons and if you look at the season itself...his last 7 games were better than the first 7 games of the year. Even at his age, he's still better than half the starting quarterbacks in the league right now. I'm not saying he's a good fit for the Dolphins but who knows. He just wants to play and isn't asking for Packers for anything more than the chance to do that. Not sure what the Packers will do though because they dont want to see him end up in Minnesota or Chicago because they are in the same division. Telling your hall of fame quarterback we don't want you back, then losing to him while he plays for another team is not the way to win over fans LOL. Favre is a god in Green Bay, bottom line. But also keep an eye out for Seattle (his old coach) and Tampa Bay. Can't wait to see this play out.

Nice Photoshop work! No, Favre is not totally used up but let's face it; his best years are behind him and last year could have been an old man's last gasp. How did he do the previous two years? Don't get me wrong; I like Bret and think he's one of the all-time greats but I would rather see the Dolphins develop a young talent that can play for the next 7-8 years, possibly earning a ring or two, rather than pay through the nose for a QB that, while not totally done with the game, is all but used up. Let's face it; the man himself said he couldn't take the mental effort of another season and quit. What if he decides mid-way through the season he was right all along?

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm just one of those fans that has been waiting since Marino for someone to step up and lead the offense again even if it's for only one or two years. I'm tired of waiting and last year was the hardest to swallow that I can ever remember. I realize it's not the sensible thing do to I'm just thinking of the immediate future not long term. Miami lost six games last year that were within three points. Those most likely would have been wins with Favre at QB. He could play one or two years with us just to make us respectable "8 and 8" again while grooming Chad Henne and John Beck at the same time. Favre hasn't missed a game since 1992.Last year he had a career high in pass completions,he took his second fewest sacks ever as a starter and had his best QB rating in over ten years. He could definately help stop the bleeding at least until the wounds start to heal.I would much rather see him starting until Beck or Henne are ready instead of seeing McClown starting. He's not the future but he definately could be a jump start. Can you imagine the excelled development of the young receivers if they had a year of Favre guiding and throwing to them?

Favre would be be better than any current qb the Dolphins have right now. I wouldnt even think twice about taking him. Mcown sucks Beck sucks and Henne is a rookie that hasnt stepped on the field yet. I saw someone mention that Favre could mentor or guide our new qb's but if you remember he didnt care to mentor Rogers which was gonna be the next Greenbay qb. I dont think Favre wants to come to a rebuilding team anyways. I would think he would like to see the playoffs again. If the fins go 8-8 this year with any current qb we have that will be AMAZING.

Another thing to consider is that part of Favre's success was that the Packers offensive line is a wee bit more talented and capable than what the Fins have had in many years.

You're right there is a big difference in the offensive lines. Miami needs alot more help than just the QB position.I'm hoping with the addition of Long combined with a smoke free Ricky and a healthy Ronnie Brown can give what ever QB they go with a little more time.At least if the running game is improved they can rely a little less on the QB. What I do feel good about though is the coaching staff they have in place now,and I'm talking about the position coaches as well as the head and assistant coaches. The good thing for any Dolphin fan is that they are pretty much guaranteed to do better this year.I'll celebrate when they win their second game.LOL.

When has Parcells ever brought in a starting quarterback who was at the end of his career? Vinny Testaverde was brought in to Dallas as a backup, not to be the starter. I doubt Favre wants to ride the pine and wait for an opportunity like Vinny did in Dallas.

True ,the only way I see it possibly happening is if Green Bay decides to let him sign some where else but puts a clause on the decision to not allow him to sign within their division. Notice how no one in the Dolphin orginization has denied or even commented on the rumor yet? That door is probably at least open for consideration especially if it includes a possible trade for Taylor. Parcells gets something for Taylor who has missed voluntary and mandatory camp already and who's future with the Fins is questionable at best. Why not get something of value for him instead of possibly forcing him to hold out or retire? Farve for Taylor straight up!!!!!! Both only have one or two productive years left why not fill a void now?

I'd rather keep our defense intact. It's the only thing that kept the close games close. Without the great defense we've had over the last 7 years or so (another wonderful talent wasted - first Marino and then the awesome defense we had with Taylor and Thomas leading the way). I just wonder if we will ever have the opportunities we've had over the past 20 years. If we had a defense with Marino or an offense with Taylor and Thomas.... oh, what might have been. LOL Really, though, I just don't see bringing Favre in being conducive to building the future of the Dull-fins.

Today on Sports Radio they were talking about the possible option of Favre heading to the buccs. Simms may be headed to Dallas, and you know how much Gruden loves getting quarterbacks. It is something to think about. Favre is not at all happy with the packers, watched a program with him on it lastnight.

I thought Miami qualified as a big city and not a small town. I wonder if this guy can utilize the english language better than you. 14 years to become an ambulance chaser huh? I mean, even with a Master's degree it's only a 10 year jaunt. He must have taken a long time and not be very good at his job if he's sweeping floors for an hourly employee at a strip mall cell phone store. One good thing about him though, he's at least not mooching off his family and pretending to be/own something he('s) actually (does)not. I mean, that would really make him a loser/poser to everyone that knew him. Nothing worse than someone who has nothing acting like they do.

Now that makes more sense.Tampa has a better shot this year at being a contender than Miami. Man it killed me to actually type that. And to top it off Tampa plays Green Bay on September 28th. Enough time for Farve to get acclimated and give a little get back to his prior coach and owner.

That deal for Taylor makes me sick. On one hand, he's been such a talent and you would expect so much more out of a trade for him but, then again, how much is he worth if he's clearly a short-timer? It is a sad day.

Just when I thought we had a fifty fifty chance on beating the Jets,Farve signs with them. I hope those Jets fans dont think Favre will take them to the promise land. They still have mediocre receivers at best. I still dont get why he would sign with them. If I were a Packer fan I would be pissed that he didn't just retire. Well at least Miami snatched up Pennington real quick. He's not the answer but at least he's an upgrade from McClown. He should do an adequate job until Henne is ready. The season is finally here.Woohoo.

Yes it is...... Have fun.........

Okay better yet, but how in the heck, or why in the heck, did Farve go w/Jets.... No offense, my hubby huge Jet fan, not that I am, but the Jets... Again no offense to the Jets, but if this was my last few years of football, I would not want to be on the Jet's.... Think it will do any good, it would be nice if it would, but I don't know... Honestly, would like to know how he feels about being traded to the Jets.....
