Absolutley. If I have to leave my quad in the back of my truck while I park somewhere, I always back into either a tree or a light pole.
There was a guy on here who went in Walmart for 15 minutes and came out and hit dirt bike was gone. In broad daylight. They caught the guy due to surveylance.
Other people have had their ramps stolen from their truck while riding at Croom. Unfortunately, there are always a few bad peeps out there wherever you go.

yeah chain your stuff and lock it up !!! we were at the hampton one night and these ppl from miami dade came up to go riding and the just got there and it was 10:00 p.m and they had a brand new 2006 f-250 harley davidson truck with a 20 ft trailer and 5-6 quads/dirtbikes and the checked in and went to there room to shower up and go to sleep they ended up looking out the window of their room at 11:00 p.m andd the truck and everything was gone !!!!!! so just check on ur stuff and make sure all your stuff is secure !!!!! or to let you know u can leave your quads/dirtbikes/trailers at OAS for like $20 a night, but u will have to stop riding and everything around 5:30 p.m or so because of their closing time i think, so u can get every thing in there and chained up !!!

The motorcycle shop at the entrance to Croom will store your trailer in a locked, guarded yard overnight for you. The only catch is you have to be there before they close.
I wouldn't leave my quad in the parking lot of a hotel on an open trailer. People have done it and gotten lucky, others haven't.

That's not necessarily true there's a guy that works at Cycle Gear hear in Sarasota. Had his atv in the back of his truck for the next morning, had it backed up to his garage door. They still stole the ATV. Took it over the side of the truck. I've had my ATVs stolen. If they want it they're going to get it. All you can do is to slow them down with locks. Or for peace of mind have them insured. And an alarm system on your garage or shed. And I'm still thinking about alarms on my bikes as well Absolutely. If I have to leave my quad in the back of my truck while I park somewhere, I always back into either a tree or a light pole.

Among the biggest mistakes is some people leave their bikes in their garage but leave the cars or trucks out in the drive way with the opener in the vehicles on the visers or in glove compartments, But yes it is true if they want it they will get it. I had 3 jet-skis stolen about 9 yrs ago and they where locked behind a fence, to the trailers and the trailers to the floors by the axles , lol all I had to show for it was the links of the trailer to floor chain that was cut and the fence lock all this happened in daylight hrs.

been to croom many times and everytime at the best western someone gets there stuff stolen . We always leave our bikes at OAS right at the entrance to croom . Randy is the owner super cool guys always willing to help with anything you need. Last time we were there prices were 10 bucks per bike 15 bucks per trailer. These guys have a guy that sleeps there with dogs and a shotgun. Oh and if you camp at croom there have been reports of people stealing right from your camp site so look out make sure you chain them up good enough to buy you some time!

I ALWAYS lock my stuff down. Toolbox with a chain, hinges and 2 locks. Trike or quad with atleast one cable lock intertwined with the toolbox and another with the tie downs in the truck bed. Ice chest and airtank are ratchet strapped in...It'd suck to lose them but those are lot easier to replace then the toolbox and machine.

the cops once told us the thieves usually come from the tampa area to steal from the people staying at the hotels that are visiting croom for the weekend, like I said if you leave the bikes at OAS youll never have a problem ,atleast weve never had one up to now

Croom is in Brooksville, FL. That is about 45 minutes to an hour North of Tampa. not miami..

you just cant trust anyone anymore. best thing to do is take the extra time and make sure your stuff is locked up and secure. Guy on here just got his trailer along with everything in it stolen from his apartment complex just on the other side of town to me. Still havent heard if he ever got any of it back

When camping you need to tie fishing string to the quad with several aluminum can tied to the other end and then place that end in your tent/camper. Instant alarm.

I leave all my stuff outside unsecured hoping for thieves. I have excellent camera coverage all over the property which alerts me and a few other of motion/trouble via text message and about six bear traps scattered throughout the back yard in the higher grass on the path to good stuff to steal.
SSS, everyone should live by it.

We had a great time and no issues. We parked the trailer at OAS, well worth the $20 bucks. What a great shop.. I clipped a tree with my left front tire and bent the tie rod. Quick trip to oas and $16 dollars later, I was good as new.
Nice to have a shop that is close and has a lot of part in stock.
